CAS/Laze Feedback
When I am doing CAS (being in an attack chopper or Jet), and then my team mates call for CAS, when I go for the CAS, the laze, often disappears when I am about to fire, so I think the laze should stick for 1:30 mins rather than just 1:00.
What do you guys think?

I think your spotter/you should relaze the target after a while like the rest of usvistamaster01 wrote:When I am doing CAS (being in an attack chopper or Jet), and then my team mates call for CAS, when I go for the CAS, the laze, often disappears when I am about to fire, so I think the laze should stick for 1:30 mins rather than just 1:00.

You have more than enough time. Tell the guy to re-laze when you're inbound if you want to be 110% sure.

Tell your spotter to relaze and the laze stays for 30 sec, not 1 min.

The thing is, I dont always have a spotter, and the average lazing sq leader, isnt that smart to re-laze...

think of the SL's situation as well, perhaps he is being engaged and suppressed? not particularly good game play dynamics if you successfully suppress a lasing SL, just to get a bomb in your face 1 minute 15 seconds later

IIRC IRL lases require you to keep the laser on the target to get an accurate hit.
I wouldn't mind the lase "sticking" for a longer period of time, maybe extended to a minute.

Like Dev said, in real life you'd have to hold the laser designator and shine it at the enemy until the bomb hit.
It's easy enough as it is at the moment, the tank/APC can't get rid of the lase 'lock' which is unfortunate really!

Re: CAS/Laze Feedback
The whole thing about constant lazing has been gone over already im pretty sure dev was part of that discussion. But 1 minute would make things easier on everyone, since timing a 30 second window right for your CAS to get in position and line up in that times not always easy.

Re: CAS/Laze Feedback
IRL arguments don't really apply here, as the AN/AAQ-28 pod and equivalents.. exist and are used. They have not been included in game for gameplay reasons. In real life, aircraft designate most of their own targets.Dev1200 wrote:IIRC IRL lases require you to keep the laser on the target to get an accurate hit.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.
The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Re: CAS/Laze Feedback
1 minute are u kiddin, we will have around 20 lazes on map. If u use proper comms like mumble, proper comunication protokol, like ready for dive bomb, or start to lase, lase is sticky, u have 30 sec to bomb wich is for planes like 3 circles around the target and u have planty of tme to bomb. Hack i do this from base, when i see cas lase for... i take of, go on target, dive pop flares and bomb, return to base reload and wait for more. This is becouse, if u do that u have less chance to be shot down by planes or AA/AAV. Its also good procedure becouse dogfights are won by who first have a lock on target, at least in 80%. So best way is to go directly to objective and if u lock enemy plane in between u shoot it down, redirect again and bomb, go to base! My opinion, do not use jets against jet as primary target, use AAV instead

When I SL if I've discovered that someone has lazed me, I lay a counter laze to confuse the CAS.

Just bomb the shit out of the source of the laze. Then tell them to stop lazing every half second, so you can see where the laze lands.DNA9881 wrote:It's more a problem of miss communication most of the time where people laze something and don't tell you what where and which angle you should come from. Ask nAyo how he feels about that xD and also u have those who refresh every .005 seconds which makes in unlockable.
