[?] File Location of the Codes for Tracers?

Post by BoZo_135 »

Was looking around for the codes that control when and how often tracers fire but couldn't seem to find them in the object files.

For example, I want to change the tracers from firing every 5 shots to every single shot. (For personal purposes ofc.)

Already searched the forums, but couldn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

I've looked everywhere, but I can't find the location of the code. It's driving me mad

Is it in one of the zipped /pr/objects files? Or is it somewhere in the root /pr file?

ObjectTemplate.tracerSizeModifier 5
ObjectTemplate.tracerConvergeDistance 20
ObjectTemplate.tracerTemplate p_tracer_g

Yes, for training purposes it's nice to have every bullet as tracer :)

Tracker rounds behave differently from normal rounds in BF2 :p

Over a long long range, correct. Its not really noticable over 600m. The tracers are somehow heavier than normal rounds, and drop sooner.

It was a real problem for various additions people like Alex tried to add to tracers.

Yep, its one of the big problems we faced when trying to implement realistic ballistics, with the options being have all rounds tracers, having no rounds trackers, or having unrealistic ballistics with normal tracers and due to the VD of BF2, we went with unrealistic ballistics with normal tracers as you often don't fire far enough to notice its unrealistic.

Lol, didn't know that. :)
But I think it's still good for training, especially when you want to observe settling behavior.
