FEEDBACK Operation rusty Bayonet
I enjoyed it, seemed that most did too a success for a one off event.
US CAS was horribly effective, mortars not bad.
Well done to Oskar and alll the PRTA team for making this work.

Awesome event, near perfect. The lack of radios for grunts worked well and give a nice atmosphere. Love the "night" time too
Hope to have the same kind of event for Project Normandy.

I would call it unpolished diamond.
Lot of potential and had very good time but it could have been better. But I understand its very hard to organize this kind of event.
For example almost whole platoon got wiped out in ceace fire by NVA. Also our chopper took some fire in ceace fire. Whats the points of it if other side doesnt respect it.

Re: FEEDBACK Operation rusty Bayonet
At the last second my mumble decided to not work. So I had to bounce around at the start getting my officers to set whispers on TS to me. Once that got sorted, things went well for the US.
Our CAS was insane.
I had a good time, and until US got capped out we were basically on par with NVA for tickets. I think that ceasefire really was badly timed cause US lost all the momentum we built up but still, it was great fun.
Seeing those chopper formations flying over our heads, was incredible.

Re: FEEDBACK Operation rusty Bayonet
Awesome event. Thankyou for the Organisers, NVA Team for good and formidable opposition and for US Columbus platoon for so much fun with total infantry carnage.
I enjoyed the fact that most of the time our platoon was just fighting an equal force with just our rifles and grenades and trusting the guy next to you to keep you alive. Communication was chaos at first but we had excellent runners going up and down the line telling people to move up, hold positions, reinforce some other flank and so on. In my experience it was alot like the real military with the communication, getting everyone to do stuff and the way the group worked together towards the objective.
Big thanks for the Platoon leader Templar for alot of patience to get the group to function. AND thankyou to EVERYONE in Columbus for working so well together, even when the squads melted all together. I think that was by far the most fun session of PR ive had in a long time just because we had a proper challenge from managing the group and taking on the enemy at the same time and just pure TEAMWORK.

Awesome event, i had a chance to lead CAS squad basically. At first , comms was really fucked up (i heard multiple noises all the time, but after some time i finally remember pilot voice and after that things went really hardcore.

A rather faulty start, but overall went pretty well considering the type of event and numbers especially an event meant to simulate an actual battle. It could have went better, but quite honestly enjoyed it. Kudos to the event team and my NVA Cutoff Platoon squadies.

pesticide - Operation Rusty Bayonet multiplayer event - Project reality vietnam 200 players event
above here is the pov from sq2 usa alpha medic, some noobie mistakes with people not firing their weapons giving covering fire or bunching up, but after the first wipe, things got better.

Event was pretty fun, but US Alpha Platoon's squads weren't that organized, we would manage to group up before fights, but in the fights and afterwards we would just merge with SQ1 (I was in SQ2) and would just move with them until the cease fire.
Other than that, I guess having more than 2 medics per platoon would've helped.

That would have helped, there was some confusion when we needed to reset the server settings.Qadis wrote: Other than that, I guess having more than 2 medics per platoon would've helped.

That right there is the H34 flipping over (and he wasn't even supposed to go there in the first place) and killing my squad at the start. Feels bad, man.VoodooActual wrote:

Re: FEEDBACK Operation rusty Bayonet
You did more than fine. Its a long road to being good at leading, most of it takes confidence and just time doing it. Thinking beyond the narrow view of a grunt or an SL starts out overwhelming for some but in time it makes sense. You start to think "This is what we should do" and then begins the long difficult road of learning to tolorate those beneath you not make it happen exactly as you imagined it.iSmall wrote:

To their credit the guys I had under me in this event did a fine job of translating my orders into action. It was a lot easier leading a massive 100 man team than I thought with just a bunch of guys I'd never worked with before.
iSmall, I'll make sure you get used to ordering people around.

As an admin I must say that players generally behaved very well. I had little to do. Thank you for the commitment.
Oskar deserves the merit. Wonderful event mate.
