is that renderer-minculldistance-10000 method?
IF its still not working, ive got an idea, a little unorthodox but you could duplicate the part of the carrier that isnt there, and raise it up in the air above whrere it should be, so then maybe itl pick it up. save the minimap then delete it obviously. Worth a try.

cos you have the carrier on the corener of your map. It dosent render aswell in the coreners. It takes the image like a dome.Griffon2-6 wrote:Updated with minimap (see previous page).
See if anyone can figure out the carrier. I tried Rhino's minimap rendering tricks, but it didn't work out for 2/3 of the carrier.

well do it and you might see the carrier. its not like you have to wait until your finished. follow that tut and youl get a nice ingame map. Then just take a screeny from the spawn screen like I did. Its not like youll lose anythingGriffon2-6 wrote:
I haven't made this minimap an ingamemap yet because it is not complete.
Although il have to get photoshop at some point so I can see it without 'game will start....'

nice one thanks man. I did renderer.drawhud0 aswell but then u cant see the map!
cheers.
btw for the city you should make more of a town because the chinese buildings are really good lookin and there are some middle east statics that would either look really out of place or have arabic writing over them.
obviously to keep it realistic you shouldnt use them. The first map attempt i did ages ago was a chinese town and i really liked using the statics there. What is also really good are aisia/village/village objects/ch_wall_high_6m_door and all of those you can make some real nice little structures with window.
Something I done was use an office building, add some chinese signs to it (there are a set that go with a shop that are by themselves) then put some stairs up the side of the office building, then put aload of them chinese window walls on top, then a roof, and it made a really cool little spot like an upstairs open floor. Itl take some time lining stuff up but itl be sweet.
This map is gonna be good I like the mix of features. carrier/coast/hills/highway/town
cheers.

Hmmmm. Thanks for that windows idea. The Chinese signs won't make much sense though, because there is only one kind of Chinese signs, and that says "Quickie Centre". I don't think every building in Taipei is a Quickie mart (although it'd be pretty funny if they were). I'll try your walls idea, and maybe I can try to glitch out the Arabic text with other objects. Or I'll have some conveniently placed trees here and there.

Yeah, the link worked, thanks, I'll give it a shot next time I get a chance. And you'll be surprised how much some of those buildings resemble buildings in Shanghai. Maybe eventually, the PR team will get East Asian city statics in, and I'll make a v2.'[R-CON wrote:duckhunt']hehe yea, good luck. All im saying is you dont want a sandy- brick building in the middle of an east aisia setting. Ah im sure youl do it good!
Anyway did that tut I linked you to work!?
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
