There are some main reasons for that.
- It's getting old graphically, even though there isn't any other substitute for PR in ways of gameplay, I rather not play PR nor any other new game.
- The dev work have been based on wrong priorities from how I see it for a long time now. We often heard it will be done when it's done, just to see several additions and tweaks that never got in game instead for the devs to work on PR Vietnam who only ran for one week on the servers but took two years to develop, and now Falklands, but we are still driving around the same Humvees and shooting the same rifles that could have gotten accessories modifications, and seeing the same maps that could be worked and worked on to perfection, to make them look more of a eye-candy.
- Gameplay itself haven't changed much over the time.
- But the main reason is, since the mod has grown so much and been put to a realistic end point, which is the best thing about the development of the mod, 64 servers are not enough anymore. With all the organization and cooperation of the playerbase this has led to squads ending up in 6 vs 6 scenarios. Even to get to this scenarios takes a long time, but these firefights end to quickly and you have to start from scratch again. This makes you wanna go nuts. After all we finally got 100+ servers which I don't know why we never see. For this game to be playable we need those scenarios when 2-3 squads of 10-15 men vs 10-15 battle each other, and this can only happen if there are 64+ players on a map. It's already to late to start with this now, I think to many people have already left and there is nothing that will make them come back.
