You mean player signatures or internet ads ? Because ads are generated from sites you go on often ^^

Because most players play PR for the teamwork part, not for the l33t kill streaks and achievements. I definitely think we play different games Mike, no offense, but I really don't see PR like you do. And as a fairly experienced PR (0.3) I can assure you most experienced players still enjoy Infantry role a lot, and always will, like you said, it's the core of PR.

If you have problems killing a dude at a 200m distance with iron sights... I feel bad for you son. AND suppressing is easy as shit, shame it doesn't really work as intended.

It would work better if more statics were penetrable by bullets, like the houses in Silent Eagle.

No problem killing; just distinguishing one small blob of pixels from every other pixels around it since I play at lower resolutions.

Since players are not afraid of getting killed in game they'll still fire back when getting shot at. Therefore I support the 3-15 Minute spawn timers...

playing medic will be a pain then as you can't even spot anything but just have to wait around for somebody to get dropped

I'd like to propose at least some kind of 'focus' mode instead, as mentioned previously in the thread. To simulate 20/20 vision, it would need to provide a 32 degree field of view, assuming 1920 pixel wide display.

yes that's the Arma 2 style feature we've been entertaining, and I personally think it is a good solution myself.

Removing my binoculars is the dumbest thing since flaming toilet paper used as a weapon against insurgents.

You disappoint me young grass hoppa, I thought you'd finish it. On that note however, how is it not working as intended? It's annoying as hell which seems to work to me.

Can't say binos being removed from average joe will help any with how old the engine is & the list of complaints brought up. But if that's the case, then there needs to be a serious over haul of cover in the maps & ability to avoid being picked off from 400M away. 2-4 smokes per soldier, more rolling hills, more ditches, etc. That's really how we got thing's done back in the good ol' Americas Army days. Before it went down the crapper.

well, in real life you can see a man easily at 300m but ingame you cant see anybody 300m away....unless they skyline themselves in a desert map.
therefore this leaves irons at a severe disadvantage at distances they could engage at in real life. so my solution would be just lower the zoom slightly of all scopes other than the marksman and sniper or give irons the slightest zoom possible...surely there is a zoom somewhere between what pr has and what vanilla bf2 has for irons....
anyways i never understood why pr implements real world magnifications in a game that averages probably 600m view distance ingame.

Finally some great ideas I can see.....
What I think is, the point isn't about people having binos or not, it's about them following orders or not. So if the SL said he's the one thats going to go and take a look, everyone else should cover/watch other directions/ what ever they see fits that will help the SL. Binos for other members are still needed since they would have to engage enemy blindly if they're outside the 300m zone. This rather unrealistic thing here would be at least solved partly with binos for everyone. Plus soemtimes you don't get that many other players to play with you and you will be covering different directions, that's why I think not even having binos for FTL is enough.
But, again, not many people would trust someone easily, especially onto intels and targets.

Finish what?

Jack in the box, bro? Have you heard about it?

Also, the game doesn't punish you enough for getting killed. Players are careless and are not afraid of getting shot (most of the time).

Problem is. IF, for example, your team decides to play really "realistically" as in, not die often, no rambo bs, taking cover falling back more often, waiting for a revive, conserving tickets etc., it will loose, despite that the enemies are wasting more tickets. You have to be careless to that point where your tickets dont go too fast but still feed constant waves of units to push the enemy back. Not to mention, people waiting for a revive would sit there for 5 minutes or so, allowing the other team to freely advance. Thats the problem, its arcady as hell in that aspect and thats why the one life event kicked *** in regards to that.

There should be more punishing, but not to make people afraid of dying, because they wont, unless the game bans you after a death, but longer spawn time would punish the team and the player on an objective level. Can still go rambo or whatever, but when you die, you die for a longer period. Your squd suffers the loss and in turn if more people die, your team suffers the loss.

Anyway. People stop complaning about the binocs. You realise that not only your beloved US Army and the Corps that will get rid of binocs, but pretty much all other factions, so the field is even. YOu can also see 10 kilometers IRL, but ingame we get 600-1000, and i see nobody complaining. Not like its your team only that doesnt see further.
