Ahhh, this may be a big problem as I usually use them to positively ID insurgents and the likes at long range and without them i'm going to have to just guess :/

Really? 21 pages of arguments to get there again?Hitm@n94 wrote:Ahhh, this may be a big problem as I usually use them to positively ID insurgents and the likes at long range and without them i'm going to have to just guess :/
You wont have to GUESS, you'll have to act as a squadmember and ask for someone else to ID the target, that will force you into calling targets and stop randomly shoot at everything you see.

Good that'll increase the life time of insurgents, cause people won't be sure if it's a civi or an insurgent at distanceHitm@n94 wrote:Ahhh, this may be a big problem as I usually use them to positively ID insurgents and the likes at long range and without them i'm going to have to just guess :/

1. he is not where you are, he cannot see it.
2. it could have been seen with real eye irl, without binos.
3. it is aiming at you with something...
...yeah, that sure is realistic.

1. You're not supposed to be aloneComradeHX wrote:Calling squadmember to look at it with binos when:

2. Once again, tell your buddy to wear full camo clothes and go 300+ meters away in the landscape... try to spot him naked eyes, good luck.
3. Just hide instead of looking at that pixel trying to figure if it's friendly?
...yeah, that sure is Project Reality behaviour.
Oh and 4... if you can't see him... there are good chances he can't see you either... so, no big deal, it's not like you are the only guy in the game without binocs...
EDIT: "He is aiming at you with something", good, so that's your argument, tell me how it would help you to have binocs in that situation? like binocs are binocs, not magic shield... if he's aiming at you before you spot him, binocs or not, you're fucked if you stay there looking at him...

Some of you guys make it appear like if the binoculars were strapped to the gun. When you have the binos out, your gun is holstered, so having binos do not help you shoot people, just see what kit they have at the best.

1. And he is not supposed to be in same exact position as you; learn how to move as squad, not everyone sticking to eachother within 1m.Midnight_o9 wrote:1. You're not supposed to be alone

2. tell your buddy to move into video game. Camouflage does not always make you invisible especially in real life.
3. it shoots your squad if it is not friendly.
4. you can see him but cannot identify, he probably has either scope or binos. While you do not.
EDIT: how the would you know if that 2 pixel is someone aiming at you or not?
If you can see clearly; obviously that is at a range in which scope/binos will not be needed.
People do not all play on same resolution.
You still have no solution to solve the problem of screen being already zoomed out in comparison to looking through real eye.

1. Learn to play PR then, It's a game based on TEAMWORK and COMMUNICATION, so, my advice for you, tell him to move to your positionComradeHX wrote:1. And he is not supposed to be in same exact position as you; learn how to move as squad, not everyone sticking to eachother within 1m.

2. Ok, wanna go this way, except for freaking desert, find me a place on earth as empty as PR maps, with no dirt, no sun shining, no dust, no grass and bushes everywhere, empty streets. Taking into account that after a long run, tired as fuck, your sight is slightly reduced... But ok, I'll "tell my buddy to move to video games", thanks for that useful statement.
3. not if you're hiding... my point still stands, plus binocs won't help you at all on that situation, that point still stands strong as well.
4. That guy has binocs and scope while you don't! OMG guys! stop everything! PR is asymmetrical and unbalanced!!! Seriously... if that guys as all that and you have no SL around or are unable to call out that potential threat... you kinda deserve to be killed.
You still didn't answer the question on how it would help to have binocs on those situations...
Well, can't adapt to everyone's resolution so, I guess there will always be people unhappy with everything. I don't have a super high resolution, still not complaining about the change.
I didn't find a solution because I'm not looking for one as for me (I think I told that enough already) there are no problem with this change. And you're not in real life, you're on a 7 years old engine game, you'll have to deal with it, there are some limitations, Devs aren't gods. Many solutions have been suggested already on previous pages, I'm sure if something is good enough to balance things out they'll work things out.
Also, you didn't bring any solution either, it's always good to blame others huh?
If you're going to say it's a shitty change, at least bring something new, a suggestion on how to balance it, something, anything... but "it will sucks even tho I haven't tested it yet" doesn't quite help at all...

Funny thing is... i dont even need binocs as it is. Look at the map, coupled with sounds, give away enemy positions no problem. Its not like you use binocs all the time to seek for well hidden enemies that are going to ambush you. Most of the time, you use binocs after you see movement or when scouting an area where you know there will be enemies... why the fuck would you need binocs anyway?

Yeah basically this. I mean, I don't use my binos to spot enemies, it's harder to spot people with them anyway, since draw distance are bad while unzoomed.Heavy Death wrote:Funny thing is... i dont even need binocs as it is. Then I look at the map to confirm friendly or ally, then shoot...
