That is a nice gesture, cheers! But I don't know if we can mobilize our own guys since only a minority reads the PR forums and the website is down : )

UPDATE

Our Teamspeak (qrf-clan.de) and website (Quick Reaction Force) are up and running again.
Admins are still working on getting the game-server back up asap.

Thanks a lot to the guys over at 762 for offering their server for our GamingDay. Great round on Shijia Valley.

Hey Mats,

As I was the admin that was considered in that chat spam, I am here to give a short statement. Yes you are right this chatting and especially this taunting were really annoying. Be happy u did not get all the reports shown ingame. There were like 30 in 10 minutes and thats no joke.

I just felt like im hosting my own Kindergarden ;) . I spoke with some other admins and they would have banned them all without any big conscience at all.

I am just the kind of admin and guy that gives people like them too many ''freedom''. I mean I am not the guy that swings his banhammer around.

After some thinking im quite angry, that I did not ban or at least tempban (10days) some of them for this childish behaviour.

Anyway thanks for your feedback Mats and I hope to see u again on our server

p.s. As you can see in the server name there is no Insurgency at all on QRF server. And as far as I know this will not be changed in the future :)

We would not ban for bullshiting on allchat, a kick or temp-ban usually does its job. I was not there today, but I will tell our other server admins to take more care of the allchat in the future and make them force the players to reduce its usage to a minimum.

What bl00d was talking about, regarding the bans, was referred to the massive abuse of the report function by some players today. I would have temp-banned, most likely even banned the players who kept spamming the reports with nonsense **** even after a couple of warnings. But thats another story normal players do not have to deal with anyways.

Just keep in mind that we (bl00d and his gracious heart is an exception :D ) do not think twice when it comes to dealing with a troll. We do our best to keep our server clean and provide decent gameplay.

So thanks for the feedback Mats391, we will try to counter allchat spammers as much as possible in the future.

Had some good games on this server, only major complaint i have is the balance. My absolute pet hate in PR is when people switch to the better side knowing full well they will unbalance the side's even more (i have no time for these people), speaking from personal experience its a nightmare to balance teams but its something that has to be done if you want to establish you're server as "full time".


You might upset certain people, but to that ill say "oh f****g well", to keep the balance an admin has to be very proactive i.e checking every couple of minutes who joins and where to put that person etc, its you're server and you're in control of it, there's 64 players not 32 ;)


There's also putting limits on clan's per side etc, but i don't think you're quite there yet ;)


Anyway, all is good apart from that ^^ in my eye's.

Thanks for your input, Tit4Tat. We don't want to establish our server as "full time", we only fill it up when we can be sure there is enough admins to handle the server.

As for the balance - we are working very hard on this. We are well aware of all the points you mentioned. We do switch full clan-squads quite often actually, we also sometimes balance the teams and restart the round after that, but It is not always possible to make the teams even at all times as you know yourself. People take action themselves, people leave if they get switched.

If you are adressing balance on our GamingDay, where 20 - 30 QRF play on one side, this was always that way and it is accepted by the players that join. We have highly competitive rounds that way and we lost quite often in the past ;)

Outcomes like this don't happen often, but we had them in the past.

I will try to track and write down the tickets at the end to see how often the teams are highly unbalanced.

You might have caught one bad balanced round. Like Jabal today. The cause for unbalanced rounds is mostly clans leaving the game AFTER the round start, where we already did our job. And it is very difficult to switch people after roundstarts, especially big clans.

As Nate said, our main concern as admins is always the balance. We try our best at EVERY roundstart to make sure that the teams are well mixed. Based on our experience we even consider the skills of every clan and most of the known publics to not only create a good clan/public ratio on every team but also make sure that all the high skilled clans and publics are not on one side.

But thanks for the advice anyways, we try to instruct every other supporting admins to keep an eye on the balance all the time.

But it seems that the tech-guys did not set it up yet when they reinstalled everything last week.

Should be available soon.

nice efforts to get map variety going on the server (would be easier with some insurgency :>), too bad not everyone seems to like.
also since you try to keep balance as high as possible, please consider maps more in that. e.g. if russia gets pushed back to docks on beirut, thats normal and has morst likely nothing to do with the teams.
and at last, how to get reserved slot? :)

Hehe, thanks for the feedback, Mats.

Yes we were experimenting around with Map rotation in the past days, with quite a lot of Minimods and on sunday, Vehicle Warfare as warm-up to our Gaming day. I think about trying to set CnC when I get the chance ;) However, Insurgency is not in the discussion right now.

I cannot offer you a reserved slot at the moment because we have decided to only give those to [QRF] Members.

You and your [BSP] mates are always welcome on the server, we appreciate your play and your ingame-reports, they helped quite alot in the past days.

Yesterday the server was administrated by WGP, because their server crashed and I offered them ours (which crashed aswell later on).

Just wrapping up for the night after the QRF vs PRTA matches. I have to say this evening was well up there in terms of quality. Really thought the whole thing went really well, especially at such short notice (the entire event was pretty much changed at last minute and QRF gave us a great fight).

hey guys, I had great games on your server and i must say that QRF is my favorite server right now, admins responding for teamswitch requests and all the other things, toughtfull map suggestions and i really like your map vote system - "Urban/Forest/Desert".
I hope to see you server up more often-keep it up!
