New new maps? Or maps that were around before like St. Lo[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote: New maps, new weapons, new vehicles, hopefully some new animations. Pretty epic stuff actually. And next to finalizing that, it's mostly waiting for 1.0 to be ready, so Normandy can be updated to 1.0 standards when it comes to sounds, anims, etc. And more people are avaible again then.

That is exactly the problem.Blackburn92xBHD wrote:Forgotten hope team somehow found a solution for thatmaybe you ask them how they did it
but i think you'll have to recreate all kits for that so you better bring that in 1.01![]()
We know how to fix it already, we know for ages.
It's just a very large and boring task to do so and nobody with the required skillset has time for that.

Well, the only thing not in python is in the engine (C++) but they are not allowed to touch it, so its probably on python.Doc.Pock wrote:is it python coding?

Python is used for game logic, for example game modes.

I'm no expert, but my guess would be to incorporate what is currently the kit geometry into the actual soldier model, and then make the kit geom just the weapon itself. This of course requires extensive modelling skill (and a tiny bit of coding).Doc.Pock wrote:is it python coding?

Wait, so the DEVs could actually change hardcoded stuff, they just don't want to do it because EA could sue them?gipakok wrote:Well, the only thing not in python is in the engine (C++) but they are not allowed to touch it, so its probably on python.

Yes, if they did something it wouldn't be Refractor 2 anymore (aka they would edit it) so they would have to buy the license for the BF2 engine, which costs money. A lot of money.

It's not really that easy. The hardcoded stuff is all in the C++ code, which isn't easy to decompile and interpret. That, and it isn't legal even if we did find 'easy' ways to unhardcode things.

I know you can't give us a exact release date, but can we be sure that 1.0 will be released this summer?

was there ever a successful attempt at contacting EA regarding the licence to the engine and all the gimmicks that come with it?[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:It's not really that easy. Re: Ask the [Dev]s a (?)
Is the team in heavy bug fixing mode still, or is it mostly just tying up odds and ends for the release?
