I take it the rate of decent was change in the last patch? Feels like it and I really think it helps the osprey a lot. Not to mention you don't have to tap S, you can just let her fall at her normal speed and she doesn't take an damage.

One thing I have seen with this new system is I try and keep it at about 50 meters above my intended altitude I want to land at, and at about 600 meters out, I just release the thrust and I land perfectly and can make a great speedy (for the osprey) entry and exvil.

LOVE it.

I flew Osprey arround a bit and it is awesome. It's actually better than ArmA II Osprey in some aspects. But there is one major issue with it - people.

I am mainly playing at PRTA and I haven't seen a single round in which Osprey wouldn't be wasted by noob pilots (or good chopper pilots who have never seen osprey in their life). They fail at either one of following:

1. Transition between horizontal and vertical flight - ppl have completely no clue when to switch. When coming to land they switch to vtol too late, either overshooting the LZ or crashing. Instead of being in vtol mode already like 1-0.5 km from LZ and approaching it with rotors up, they switch last seconds before LZ (apparently they figgured that out from MW3 :P )

2. Once they are in vtol mode they have no idea how to control thrust/colective - I saw one guy coming to land after a last second transition (at which he mirraculously succeeded), he stopped, hovered for a bit and started to climb. Seconds later his rotors turned forward, and he pitched up in order not to crash, right before accelerating back into the sky.
I kinda understand the problem here. I am using joystick to fly, so I can control vertical acceleration with the whole lower range of throttle, but if someone uses keyboard... he cannot fly, he only has 'S' key for this and descend rate depends on the rate at wich he taps 'S' key.

So, this plane requires either some video tutorials to be put arround and a big 'educational campaign' or a legitimate training mode. Otherwise there is no point for it to be in game.

Some of this applies to Harrier as well, I saw a few crashes when ppl attempted to land on carrier. People don't realise that with VTOLs they have to learn to fly again.

Been flying in pr since 2009 allways been a main pilot on all classes off events/clans/groups ect.

And i say like this:
You guys did a great job whit this MV-22 Osprey, it was hard to learn in the beginning but now it works like a charm people have been tanking me for knowing how to fly it "lol". But anyways i dont think this helicopter works on "PR" this small of maps for example muttrah or other maps it is on. for and exemple arma 2 maps are so big so its work perfect whit it. But here i see the maps so small for this kind of chopper.

But once again if you are a good pilot, you can easily fly whit this and make it to a good of use because of the crates and even the 50* behind it or what it is hahah , Clan mates have killed allot of cars and trucks lately whit it. But once again i do not like the fact that the maps are so small in "PR"/ BF2.

And i do agree some whit FoxtrotFaulkner in some points.

This is my feedback about this chopper.
