Re: [Update] British MTP camouflage
UPDATE: I played my first two ever desert british maps and there is MTP!!
But still DPM needs to be replaced with MTP, not DDPM as it would be more accurate to have DDPM on those maps as DDPM is still going to be used in proper Desert enviroments meanwhile as said before DPM has been phased out.
(Also at range the MTP looks like DDPM again (goes khaki/yellow instead of a greeny yellow MTP should)

No there are parts of the kit geoms that have the MTP but not all of it and not on the awesome scale that is upcoming in those pictures that Rhino released then removed, they look awesome. Also welcome to PR.Kaix12 wrote:UPDATE: I played my first two ever desert british maps and there is MTP!!

Yeah i did notice that they werent very high quality, but some of it not having MTP is kind of accurate for about 2010-11 time (osprey with ddpm for example) but yeah hopefully this new MTP will also repolace the DPM.camo_jnr_jnr wrote:No there are parts of the kit geoms that have the MTP but not all of it and not on the awesome scale that is upcoming in those pictures that Rhino released then removed, they look awesome. What update did they replace the DDPM with MTP? I have only been playing since 0.97? (i think it was that, or the one before 0.9

They basically had everything with MTP, with the mk4 osprey armour. Looked very nice, basically like this.Kaix12 wrote:What update did they replace the DDPM with MTP?.

EDIT: Am i allowed to say this Rhino? It's pretty predictable what your going to do with the British kit either way but if i'm not feel free to remove my post.

Re: [Update] British MTP camouflage
They should add some models with the bits of MTP scraps on the helmet like this:

and this:

Apparently it's the latest fad out their now that scrim and sniper tape is meant to be banned.

All or none, its hard enough to recognize silhouettes of different armies without everyone wearing different helmet as well.Kaix12 wrote:They should add some models with the bits of MTP scraps on the helmet like this:

Re: [Update] British MTP camouflage
Quite on the contrary, I recon if they added these (although I doubt due to polygons), it would be easier to identify as everyone would know the British are the hereby sandy colored guys with straps or vegetation on their head, meanwhile Mec is light yellow, china is pretty cleanly shaped and either dark green or yellow to dark yellow, Russia is like the Usmc but with no helmet cover or are bright green, Taliban and etc are mishandle mash so everyone knows. And at long range the helmets would look the same due to LOD changes and that is where blue on blue happens most of the time. (although I have seen an APC murder 2 squads at point blank by mistaking US army for Chinese somehow.)

Re: [Update] British MTP camouflage
Rhino any updates on the new camo? If it were to be implemented will it simply go in one of the updates through the launcher?

Re: [Update] British MTP camouflage
MTP has been ingame for the last couple releases. Granted it's not the best looking texture but it's already implemented since .95.

Re: [Update] British MTP camouflage
spush if you go back a few pages you'll see Rhino posted a picture but then took it away as he realized it wasn't meant to be shown. That picture showed the whole soldier with MTP camo with mk.4 osprey armor and so that's what i am asking about.

Re: [Update] British MTP camouflage
The developer who was working on it currently isn't and he had two out of four more player models to texture without the aid of existing .psd files since the last developer who worked on the Brit player textures never uploaded them. As such unless someone picks up his work, it may unfortunately never get finished.

I may be able to help with this if it still needs to be done. (Considering everything is UV mapped)[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:The developer who was working on it currently isn't and he had two out of four more player models to texture without the aid of existing .psd files since the last developer who worked on the Brit player textures never uploaded them.
