I Think it might be fixed. I'm really shocked. I Played 2 full rounds and no your connection to the server has been lost. I'm really surprised that was the problem. Ill do more further testing and play more later.

Bad News. Soo upset. Decided to get on tonight to play some amazing Project Reality. And i was ingame for about 45mins, and went to go research more on this issue, and some people thing it's VOIP ingame with PR as Mumble. Cause i've never had an issue like this before 1.0 Version. 2 Years ago i was playing fine. it's either VOIP or Windows 8 problem. Cause i can play every Punkbuster Game out there no issues, play games without getting Dced. Stay on TS3 24/7.

I'm gonna try disabling my Steam Ingame Overlay. The only reason i didn't do that at first cause the steam overlay never worked on BF2 :P R in the first place soo didn't think it was even an issue

Hi PLEASE make sure you DID FOLLOW ALL of these steps (three important posts by Lithoralis, our tech-EXPERT around here!):

1. https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ost1974021

2. https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ost1974643

3. https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ost1975361

AND, REALLY surprising me all of a sudden, DIDN'T you just post

1. -

you managed to play (I quote) : "2 FULL ROUNDS" on tuesday, the 14th of january?? ;) What about that?

You REALLY have to get into PR, BELIEVE me how fun and relieving it will be, playing a few rounds without issues!!! ;) 8)

2. -

I see you have TWO screens, MAY be causing the problems, if wrong screen automatically detected for PR ! ! ;) (LITORALIS pls LOOK into this, whether PR launcher is NOT programmed/coded for a two-screen-PC setup/whether this feature SHOULD be improved/fixed! ! !)

3. -

And DO you SRSLY run PR EVERYTIME as ADMIN(-rights)?? ;) :)

4. -

and FINALLY are you SURE you DID NOT MOVE ANY parts ON you CABLE (internet conection) at the TIME of disconnect? (BE SURE ! :) ) Cable MIGHT be broken/loose conection if you MOVE the cable! ;)

5. -

Did you CALL your ISP and EXPLAIN them exact situation/disconnect issue IN BF2 game/tell them port/ip of (game-)servers you got disconnected from!! (Also mention EA server for example)

6. -

And DID you do research on the PACKET loss issue/FOLLOW the steps MENTIONED HERE in exact this post by Lit. :

Before i moved into this house 2 and half years ago i had a ARRIS at my old house, and thats when i played BF2 :P R and i didn't have a problem then. So maybe since i got my new mobo in July and new CPU it might be the drivers/mobo. If not that idk
MAYBE the ARRIS SRSLY is making issues on ANY of the connection types that are included in new PR 1.0/1.1/1.1.1 version(s) ! ! LITORALIS?? Any idea? :)

You could try something that is meant for dialup, it's a latency fixer, it will consistently ping a server to make sure your connection is always running. Leatrix Latency Fix - Leatrix.com

( I run 2 monitors, that isn't the problem)

My thought here is the Optimum 100 Boost plan is a fiber optic connection, and Cablevision is usually pretty consistent.

There are quite a few of us who play PR with Cablevision, though I'm not sure how many use Boost 100, but Optonline is never a problem.

You might want to head over to OptimumOnline forum | DSLReports, ISP Information and note that others have been complaining about ISP problems the same days you were having probs.

I Played This morning on Monday from 2am til 5am. I Got off saying WoW it actually didn't give me the connection to server has been lost. Actually it did but it was for everyone. Whole Server Crashed. So then i went to bed saying haha nice it worked for 3 hours. Had like a 13ms/ping ingame the whole time. Then when i went on tonight around 5pm ish i went ingame for like 15mins and i got the connection to server has been lost. Can you explain to me why one morning i can play for 3 years then get on 12 hours later and only play for 15mins. ? Pretty crazy.

Sounds like an ISP issue, maybe.

You should get the exact model number of your Arris modem,

I'd suggest simply swapping the Arris for a Motorola modem.

Those Arris modems are known to cause issues like this, the only other possibility I see is you are on Optimum fiber optic and they are traffic shaping. I am on Optimum cable, and have never had this problem. So it could be something in the Cablevision network management. If you call, ask the techs if they have problems with random disconnects on MMOs, such as World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Staw Wars The Old Republic. Those three popular games regularly have the same problem with Arris modems and ISP network traffic shaping causing random server disconnects.

There is a "feature" of the Arris that allows for deep packet inspection and prioritizes packets. THe inspecting part causes BF2 and PR, (and LoL and SWTOR and WoW and many MMO type and FPS type games that stream constant high amounts of data over time) to lose enough packets that your client disconnects from the server.

I'm not sure which modems are available to you, as Cablevision is rolling out new modems for people with 100MbpsBoost plan, and if you have telephone service with Cablevision.

I'd suggest 3 things:
1. Call or IM chat with Cablevision tech support and have them test your line signal strength, and then ask them to turn off the Arris QoS and packet inspection features in the modem. (You can also Google for you exact modem model and find the directions to access the modem firmware, probably)

2. calling Cablevision to deliver, or dropping by a service center and swapping out your modem for a Motorola Surfboard or anything that isn't a Arris, IF that new modem can run at 100Mbps Boost, I'm just not sure which modems are available where you are. Cablevision is rolling out new service cabling and modems and settop boxes in Queens and Nassau and ... etc.

Arris TM802G modem
Arris TM804G modem
Arris TM822
amongst other Arris modems are just fubared for online gaming.

WPA Security is for WiFi passwords, you should be using WPA2 level of encryption at a minimum on the n600. That isn't an issue for your connection problems.

This you should do, Bascunan. :)

Now a different question to Litoralis, any known issues with TP-Link Router/WLAN-repeater and BF2 ? Cause I have problems (not only BF2, but every 2-3 mins. 5-15 sec. laaaaag or connection data seems "stuck" somehow)

I found out TP-Link has this feature enabled by standard:

"WMM - WMM function can guarantee the packets with high- priority messages being transmitted preferentially. It is strongly recommended enabled"

What you think/know about it? Cable-Modem is a "Cisco EuroDOCSIS 3.0"

I have this same problem, im using windows 8 64bit, with Comcast as my ISP (it sucks!) and an Arris modem. However I dont have connection problems with any other game I play.

The amount of time I play before disconnect varies, the longest I have played was in a CO-OP server, and that was about 45 minutes. Every other time its been about 5-30 minutes on PvP servers which has been happening since I first downloaded the mod 3 days ago.

I'm having this problem and I'm fairly certain it is the Arris modem. Comcast is tough to work with though, I went to the office in my city and they gave me a newer Arris modem and I couldn't get the Motorola one.

Comcast + Motorola 6121 with the issue. It also happened on my older SBG900, but then the problem disappeared for a couple months.

So i kno this thread is gonna old and i'm still interesting in giving this game another try and the community love so thats why i'm gonna give it a try again. I Just moved and got Optimum Online aka Cable Vision. I Asked the guy for a Motorola Modem but he said that Cable vision or aka Optimum doesn't hold them anymore. That ARRIS is the only modem they really have. But i got a pretty badass router upgrade. Got rid of the netgear and got a SAGEMCOM Router :P . Check out site for the beast here. Looks pretty legit. i'm hoping this modem and router together can do some good for the processing of working the game. i'm gonna give it a try after i'm completely settled in my new home lol
