I have reinstalled twice, yet I still crash every time a server tries to switch map. I also crash when I try to ESC while in-game... this is quite annoying having to have to restart PR to play the next round.

Same issue, multiple CTD on map changes. Did not happen prior to 1.2. Looking forward to fix.

If you guys run a local server yourselves then change map, does it also crash?

Same problem.
At rounds end, the moment the loading bar shows up in the bottom the game crashes for me. Everytime.

Tested it with local coop server. Same problem.

Before updating from 1.1 to 1.2 never had these problems.

Tried to uninstall PR (not BF2) and reinstall it with the full client 1.2. Didn't solve it.

Before reinstall I changed the graphic settings to low. After reinstall I left them at medium.

I can't even join. CTD when the map is loading. My very first join in 1.2 resulted in a BSOD with regards of portcls.sys. So x-fi bug is back too.

Post by tankninja1 »

I got a memory error message after playing Hades Peak, and before one time too. Haven't gotten a memory error for the last few versions so I'm guessing that it is a new problem.

The times I crashed after Hades Peak it was while the score screen was popping up, the time I crashed before Hades Peak was after playing Vietnam Barracuda.

I got the same problem, my game crashes each time we change maps (old and new maps) and sometimes when I press ESC or if I alt+tab it will crash too.

My PR crashes every time I try to join a server and gives this same message. Not sure if it actually means anything though.

Jacksonez__ it's quite possible you are running out of shared video graphics RAM.

Or running out of RAM.

Or your CPU is pinned to 100% utilization.

Try downloading bitsum's ProcessLasso x64 Free version. http://bitsum.com/processlasso/

You need to kill as many background processes as possible.

Try downloading this also, Ultimate Windows Tweaker v 2.2, a Tweak UI for Windows 7 & Vista
And turning off as many windows UI options as you can to free up video RAM.

You also might want to try IOBIT gamebooster,
Razer Game Booster Free Download, Speed Up PC for Top Gaming Performance

It will shut down other various windows components when you start PRBF2.exe , once you add PRBF2.exe to the list of games.

I sporadically experience this phenomenon myself, also just as of 1.2

Really not sure what the root cause could be...

I'm having this problem as well. Right after 1.2 install my game CTD after every single round. Game also CTD almost every time I try to access the options menu  .
I will post system specs when I get home.

Zeep, your Nvidia driver for your GTX 570 card is way outdated, "(131.42)", download 332.21 version like I have and try that driver. Maybe graphics driver version is causing the problem on your pc.

Played several hours straight today and yesterday. Not a single crash between map changes occured (switched between new and old maps) . I do not know if the crash had something to do with that I removed some RAM from my laptop and at that moment the constant crashes came to end. So now I'm playing with 4Gb.

I dunno, but my PR works again.
