And there is no one to make it. Looks how long it has taken to make the current factions, and that was back when support of them was huge. Anyone is free to make a faction, but its not any sort of priority for DEVs.

I think the COMFACS in PR should work together for the greater good. I mean, we got a shitload of unfinished projects around, why not concentrate the manpower at only one at time? Just put the factions in a queue.

There are some really nice factions around with great possibilities such as the Polish, the Finnish and even the [abandoned] Norwegians, yet people put their main efforts on Dutch forces which got very few possibilities of action on the recent world conflicts and should be low priority.

The Norwegians aren't abandoned. Often a persons dedication is only enough to work on one faction (very often that person's own country of origin). There are many people working on multiple factions though, and the PR-team is helping out where it can. But we are trying to work together as much as possible. But you can't force a person to work on something he doesn't care much for.

For me the factions country doesn't really matter, it's a lovely change - different weapons, vehicles and kits but to be honest all the conventional factions are pretty similar.
But the work in creating them to PRs realism standards is frightening.

The only advantages are variety and perhaps more players from the factions country who want to play possibly the only game with their 'own' forces in it.

I think we should add the roman empire, a bit of asymmetrical warfare with the manipular formation against the ak47.

Italian army would be an interesting faction, but there would be alot of work, and I would rather see a faction like Japan been developped first.

However, will all know how long PR have been developped, so everything can still be done ;)

Japan and Taiwan have great possibilities. They can fight with China and Russia.

If I could magically add any faction to PR, it would be India. They have one of the world's largest and fastest growing military forces, yet they've been more or less ignored...

The Roman Velites will absorb all the ak47 rounds then the Legionnaires will come out of nowhere and wreck shit with their Pilum and Gladius.

'KillJoy[Fr wrote:;2023488']21st Century.
Well, let me think about: Afghanistan (Task Force 45, just sayin'), Iraq, Sudan, Timor Est, Somalia...
We had the first Navy special forces: the 10th Flotilla MAS. Two operators, Fiorenzo Capriotti and Nicola Conte, belonging to this unit, trained the Shayetet 13: in 1992 Ami Ayalon appointed Capriotti as honorary commander-in-chief of Shayetet 13.
I think italian armed forces have been busier than Dutch armed forces, with all respect to Dutch guys.

Do you have to know a programming language? Which one?

No need to know any programming language. You just need a team able to make:
  • Animations for weapons
  • Models for weapons and vehicle
  • Textures for weapons and vehicles
  • Maps
  • Codding for weapons and vehicles*
  • Kit geometries
Coding is just tweaks:

Code: Select all

ObjectTemplate.addTemplate em_muzz_m2_lightSource
ObjectTemplate.setPosition 0/0/0.167374
So... a hard task and a pretty good reason why PR does not have all factions of the world but if you find a dedicated team you can help expand the game.

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!
