Re: Rally's too close to fobs.
My take on this is that I'd be in favor of removing the rally points entirely.
Rally points are only good for personal gain of its squad in team based environment.
Rally points are too easy to hide and are the quickest and easiest option, therefore every single squad rely on it
and nobody, nobody can be bothered with fobs.
Its easier to get heli transport with fresh new rally point in case of getting overruned
I am strongly against RP

Sounds good!
I remember once, on Bijar,
Every squad (inf wise) had a heli drop them at their locations. (In Bijar Cities and such)
Then, they didn't make fobs, they just used their rally points.
(I was in Tank squad on IDF)
So then, guess what? Our entire team was complaining we didn't have Fobs.
Then, an inf squad made a fob.... It became spawnable, and LITERALLY....
There were 4 rallies around the fob, so... it was like LUCKY GUESS!!!
So, question...
Does it mean that you can't place a rally by another squads rally?

You can place rallys anywhere. If you accidentally select the wrong one from a cluster of RPs, python will move you to the correct one. This is already implemented on the servers currently. In a future release it will also look for a nearby FOB and move you to that, so missclicking on an RP next to a FOB wont be a problem either.matty1053 wrote: Does it mean that you can't place a rally by another squads rally?

Re: Rally's too close to fobs.
wouldn't number 4 make number 2 redundant? Also i feel like number 4 should be moved to be first on the list on the grounds that it is the most common spawn error to occur due to accidentally selecting a rally when you wanted a FOB.
it is fairly uncommon unless the player is new that they will specifically select a rally that is not theirs.
also for a squad which has a rally there's little chance of them selecting the wrong rally unless they specifically wanted to spawn on a FOB because they didn't want to use their rally in the first place.
Thus the order in my opinion should be FOB, Rally, CP, then death.

Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

I'd be in favour of removing rallies entirely if it weren't for the fact they could be reverted to the .98 system. As they are now they diminish rather than encourage inter-squad teamwork.Beee8190 wrote:My take on this is that I'd be in favor of removing the rally points entirely.

Re: Rally's too close to fobs.
I support this idea - It's not groundbreaking - It's just preventing mistakes. Nobody needs a rally so close. I always destroy rallies (Own or other squads) that are overlapping/questionably close to FOB spawn dot. I hit the right spot 80% of the time, but with these actions I prevent the less eperienced and their SL some issues.
However, I am totally in favour to actually nerfing/removing RP's. With 100p they are not needed.

Great Idea, and i do agree it should be put in, but be realistic. This isn't gonna fix the problem of people spawning on rallys and dying. If we want that, before creating an account it should have a "timed PR manual viewing". where for a set amount of time (say 5 mins) you have to look at the manual before playing PR. Would be "atiny" bit annoying for new players, but very helpful in the long run I think.

Re: Rally's too close to fobs.
Just like many things in pr, the most simple and obvious fix to this problem is for the SL to think about what he is doing with his rally.
I support rally points 100%. They're a great way for squads to maintain autonomous movement apart from blue blobs. It also provides SLs the ability to stealthily regroup their squads.
I don't see a problem with rallies, except for their placement by some SLs in-game.

Re: Rally's too close to fobs.
We already made a change to counter this.
We wont do anything else on this. If you want to discuss rallies in general use one of the feedback threads or make new suggestion, please.New spawn-check pattern:Bold ones are new
- Is there a spawnable FOB within 90m? If yes, move there
- Is there a valid squad rallypoint for you? If yes, move there
- Is there a command post? If yes, move there
- Is there any spawnable FOB? Choose closest one and move there
- You get killed

Re: Rally's too close to fobs.
Yeah the topic went a bit off track right there. It wasn't about rally's being good or bad at all.
Thanks Mats for letting us know these changes!

Re: Rally's too close to fobs.
After playing yesterday.... I do really think there needs to be a range limit.
50m on 2km maps, 100m on 4km maps.
I don't mind rallies near fobs, but I hate when you can't see what dot is the fob.
