hmmm interesting , how about pigeons?[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:Not really. Legs don't really work well within BF2. People tried, results are poor.
Horses work great in BF2142 though. I've seen some nice things on youtube about that, moving really really realistic. But I can't find the vids anymore...

Skip to 5:50: And ye, EA/DICE deliberately made it so that BF2 couldn't have any "walking vehicles" as they where scared that the Mech mod might jeopardize their sales of BF2142.SyriousT wrote:hmmm interesting , how about pigeons?jk

Re: Soviet Army (1980s)
I found some refractor engine horses
Horses in 2142
I'm sure its possible in bf2, but I doubt anyone has the patience or skills to get it done, and even so, it wouldn't look that great. That being said, I'd rather have horses than motercycles- those things are jerky af
EDIT: Better link- Horses in 2142 (2)
The author mentions "animated vehicle code", which is seemingly exclusive to battlefield 2142 (i assume it allows the vehicle to be animated/moving while no one is in it)

That's correct, as I said above:Insanitypays wrote:The author mentions "animated vehicle code", which is seemingly exclusive to battlefield 2142 (i assume it allows the vehicle to be animated/moving while no one is in it)
This is one of the main reasons why the First Strike (Star Wars) mod moved from BF2 to BF2142 for their walkers etc.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:And ye, EA/DICE deliberately made it so that BF2 couldn't have any "walking vehicles" as they where scared that the Mech mod might jeopardize their sales of BF2142.

I see. looks to me as if this was around the time EA was turning towards the dark side

Yes, those were the vids I meant. They look really good in BF2142. Shame it just doesn't work in BF2. I think you can do _some_ parts of it, but it will look quite awkward and will never look as good as in these vids.Insanitypays wrote:I found some refractor engine horses

A Russian V Taliban/Insurgents map on Afghanistan would work as they had a long bitter war going on in the 80's
