But you should be able to deplying mg on windows, which you can't see out of when prone.Arduras wrote:This is quite possible. Even vBF2 has different accuracy "settle points" for different
stances and different speeds of stability returning (if you move, change positions, etc)
GO play BF2 and take an lmg or even an ar prone then crouch then stand and reverse.
This could easily be implemented, at least in comparison to the original MG idea of
deploying/undeploying. Thing is prone would be the only 'properly deployed' mode.
You wouldn't get stability at a window or over a fence because you wouldn't be prone.

Thing is, we can have the same settle position but increase the settle time based onComradeHX wrote:But you should be able to deplying mg on windows, which you can't see out of when prone.
position. Movement would increase deviation (inluding stance switch, if possible)

I don't think settle time can be reduced based on position.Arduras wrote:Thing is, we can have the same settle position but increase the settle time based on

Only thing stance changes is accuracy(other than huge deviation by going prone) as far as I recall.

Re: Real Deployable Machine Gun
Another solution is to dispatch the machine gun on separate kits like the light ar carry the main body of the 50cal, the heavy ar the barrel and rifleman need to drop ammo boxes on it as an "activation" ?

I suggest messing in BF2 (Single player even) and just going through positions with weapons.ComradeHX wrote:I don't think settle time can be reduced based on position.

Depending on whether or not you moved recently/which stance you're entering it's different.
Going from Standing to Crouch it takes a bit of time (longer for LMG, which means time is
a variable somewhere) and going from Crouch to Prone takes a moment too especially with
movement penalty deviation. Going from prone->crouch->standing however doesnt' seem
to have a delay, so that might be what you're talking about.

Ya, about a year ago I thought we would see this eventually...A thread started in 2009....not very promising at this point.

Re: Real Deployable Machine Gun
There are just too many downsides making it impractical to use. We considered it of the M1919 in ww2 but will go with handheld weapon again.Murphy wrote:Ya, about a year ago I thought we would see this eventually...A thread started in 2009....not very promising at this point.
Just to list major issues again:
- Unable to shoot out of buildings or cover. Only able to use in open ground.
- No suppression effect for soldier using it.
- Going dead-dead when dying using the weapon.
Not worth it.
