explosion effects and radius of the big red
Hey fellas,
Is it just me or did they change the explosion effects of the big reds. I mean, I can remember back in the days there was a huge black cloud emerging from the ground, now a days it's just a tiny one.
2nd...
Big red's blast radius, did they change it as well? Survived an explosion within 40 meter today. If so, why did they do it?

Nice playing with you on Khami a few days ago.
I know that lowering your effects in the graphics settings will make the explosion look much smaller. The explosion should still be huge even though the visual effects were changed significantly with the release of 1.0.
The blast radius still seems to be quite big. Nearly my entire squad went down on the mosque roof on Fallujah when a bomb truck exploded below. It killed us right through the walls and ceilling but I don't know the exact blast radius and whether its been changed. Where's Psyrus when you need him to answer these kind of questions?

My graphics settings are at maximum, i think it has something to do with the 1.0 overall visual changes which you spoke of.

I really don't understand why you want a 24/7 server, all maps are fun, some more than the other but if you only keep playing one map, damn that makes it boring so fast and underrates the other maps who won't get played anymore.

Perhaps you are right, mries.
Of course, there are plenty of awesome Maps but for me personal Muttrah beats all of them. Except Asad Khal maybe haha

Speaking of explosions; is the same explosion effect used for everything from mortars to CAS?
Imo mortars should have smaller visual effects with more light dust and not the big black pillar...
(Does someone know the size and name of the mortars in PR?)

Many fire and smoke and other effects are shared for optimization purposes. This mostly relates to the textures these effects use. Many explosions might share these but still vary in size and detail.
