Sorry for over assuming then. But I feel the medic situation is not bad for regular squads (you know, when SL has a mic and actually uses it)paragonid wrote:You're wrong, I almost never play on Russian server. Re: Shortage of Medics
Medic is a default role for me, it just feels natural for me. It has power to revive and heal. 6 patches. And I have a rifle and a knife. It is like having superpowers.
It is definetelly the most important role in the squad (besides SL).
(my playstyle is aggromedic though, I just LUV knife kills, and I hate american rifles without autofire)

Cool, one of my characters is AR and is DPS build, epic combined with a Rifleman for +2 ammo buff and Medic for instant gealth boost. Not so aggro myself when playing SL, I tend to use the conjured squad and send them forward to take damage as I sit back and pick enemies off. With a ranged marksman kit ofcourse. A supply crate has to be near so I can quickly morph into HAT incase of enemy tank. Then its only question of predicting if he comes top mid or bottom.xantis wrote:Medic is a default role for me, it just feels natural for me. It has power to revive and heal. 6 patches. Ladies and germany, this is why there is no more tactical gameplay.

Re: Shortage of Medics
It's not only this (although it's a huge part of the cause). I think less people understand the importance in squad-leading. Sorry for my dank youtube language, but I literally got cancer by watching a video of a gameplay in latest Karez War of the Factions (where GB fought NL) from IRC a british SLs perspective who was leading a squad of his clanmates. Oh my fucking goat, that was unbearable - every time a situation asked for an initiative of pushing/defending/consolidation/regrouping/repositioning his squaddies, he just didn't do anything. His defense getting attacked by a squad of enemies - lie prone and tell medic to revive the fallen (although now I doubt that he even gave any commands to medic as there was a lot of "medic, please revive!" spam).
Enough writing. You have to see it to believe it. So here's the video (if you don't want to immerse yourself withing the bullshit, do start watching from 3:30 - after they've dismounted - and basically you can end at the "end of the line" - 16th minute to understand the basics behind this video/this squad).
I was wrong about one thing - it's not from the SL's POW, but you can feel the way how involved he is with his squad - reconning the surroundings of his defensive position, getting intel on enemies while they're are approaching not while they're already assaulting and the list goes on. It actually seems like this other guy who's talking 90% of time is the SL, but he's just an SM, and that's the funnest part about PR and it's like a rule - if SL talks less then one of his SMs then he must probably doing a really poor job (exception being when all of the squad consists of like-minded, leveled players who basically communicate without words, but based on reading the map/situation).
*trying to keep watching after 16th minute, but I really can't bear myself to do that... it's just sad*

In 99% cases we play in stable team with competent SL. While playing 5< squad, there are always 2 medics. One stays with AR behind, one is closer to SL (I call him aggromedic). I tend to take iron sights, and go 4th in order after breacher, SL and rifleman/grenadier. After contact, I can assist with my firepower or if its close range go wild and get advantage from chaos and use a knife (its a game, have fun). Of course priority is to get everybody up, but sometimes you just have to secure area before start, and you are only one standing, and you know that there are tops 1-2 opponents - I usually just go for it.
I do not see why it is somewhat harmful to spirit of tactical gameplay.

I would report him to the admins, not teamworking lolMadar_al_Fakar wrote:Luckily I meet those less often then the good guysbut yeah, had an encounter yesterday an *** with an attitude like "Screw you, you're not in my direct path" (so he didn't want to walk like 20 meters to me even tough it was safe and I was in cover while dying) I was stunned by what fag he was/is (we were in the same squad too and nope he isn't a new player who doesn't know what he's supposed to do, he was just a genuine ***).
