Looking up an object from texture.

Post by Rabbit »

I found a texture that I want to use

Code: Select all

bgf_marstonmats_de
bgf_marstonmats_tileable_de
I want to see what object already uses it to see if it fits my needs before I make one. Is there anyway to search for an object that loads one of those textures?

Outlawz found them but looks better if I turn them into roads by the looks of things.

Ye I would recommend making them a road template much like how I did the rubber matting rather than as statics. Those statics have been in PR for a long time but being so thin etc, they just zfight with the terrain etc so they where just removed from maps.

What on earth is that meant to be?

Are they just meant to be stands for vehicles and if so, what are the cables for?

Generally, they are used for airbases, helipads and the like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marston_Mat

Nice idea rabbit. Rhino I believe those are to represent airdropped vehicles.

Ah ye I see it now, that's a pretty sweet and unique idea! :D

Might be best to do the ropes as part of the road texture too rather than mesh cables?

Yeah, but that just means its another thing to add to my nutty to-do list that isnt actually mapping. All ready at a point where I am trying to off load some on to willing others.
