300 round mags, carry like 3 times the ammount of ammo compared to normal caseammo. Germany reunited - not enough money for G11 and there are still a few probs with caseless - cases take heat away and small ammount of residue if not carefull - more than case.

basically they solved all the problems with the ammunition, only some few minor were left at the end, but those could have been dealt with in no time - its not like the m16 was introduced flawless ;)

Not quite, 45 round mags on the final version (G11K2). But yeah, a G11 (wieght for wieght) can have double the ammo load of an M16A2, as this handy image explains:

But I dont know if there would be enough space for 28 reloading units on a person...

Every major weapon of the modern era has had its critisisms. Some say the M16 feels like a BB gun, some think the AUG looks like a water pistol and some believe the FAMAS looks more like a hand bag than a rifle. Now, yes, the G11 does look like a box with a pistol grip and a scope, but that dosent stop it from being effective.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I don't care what it looks like, as long as it can shoot.

you got to admire a gun that fires a three round burst that fast, that the recoil only "sets in" after the last bullet left the barrel

afaik the they have some, because they thought about switching from the enfield to the g36, but as you can see they didnt - perhaps some special forces though use it
the Brit spec ops use the Canadian made C7 and C8
http://world.guns.ru/assault/as44-e.htm
ok its doesnt say there, but they do
aha!
wikipedia on the C8:
The British Ministry of Defence acquired a number of SFWs, primarily for the SAS, giving them the Land Force designation L119A1.
there ya go!

Based on BobMarley's graphic shouldn't PR have the same loadout, with more mags for the M16 and less for the G3 ?
Is it me, or were those pictures showing empty magazines ?

Yes, but then the Devs would have to make the G3 a 1 hit kill. And they're not going to do that ( :( ).

And yep, those mags are empty, but thats unsurprising, considering those pictures were taken at a military parade.

About the G11, could someone please explain the concept of "caseless ammunition"? Pretend you're trying to explain it to a child =)

Think of a bb gun, you know how you just "pour" the BBs into the magazine? Same concept.

Well, with regular ammo, you have a case containing the explosives used to launch the bullet, as well as the bullet itself. The round is fired when the firing pin hits the primer in the back of the case. The round goes forward, the working parts go backward, the case is ejected, a new cartridge is fed into the chamber, and the hammer is cocked again. Then the process repeats itself. With me so far?

With caseless ammo, however, the bullet is "wrapped" in explosive (eliminating metal cases), so that it weighs less (50 % of an ordinary round), and takes up less space than an ordinary round. Rounds are fed into the chamber and the explosive is detonated by an electric shock. All of the explosive is used up in the explosion, and the round leaves the barrel. A new round is then fed into the chamber. Or, another round can be fed into the chamber and fired before the last round has even left the barrel, making for extremely high rates of fire.
The advantages are that there are less moving parts, lighter weight, smaller size, and higher rates of fire (because you can send of an electric shock much quicker than you can eject a case from a chamber and **** the hammer again).

Was that clear enough? This is at least how I believe it works...

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.
