Yea, "Hills of Hamyong" that's a perfect example of my earlier post calling for one sniper only for each side. After all there's only 32 players max per side. Is it realistic to have more then one expert sniper in an assault/secure type operation? The Brit rifleman has a perfectly decent limited scope for aimed distant shots. As is that map plays like any vanilla multiplayer sniper crazy shooter.

I enjoy a good game with snipers. I must say I LOVE the delay in getting another sniper kit. That way, if someone is hording the gun and takes a round in the forehead they just can't take it again. I think this takes care of most of the issues with the Sniper class.

If some dude has it the entire round, that means that they didn't get hit and did their job. Overwatch is a wonderful thing.

One thing that I think is a problem is that when the sniper is considered a DM, he still has a very limited amount of ammunition. It makes you want to hang back and not take shots. If hes gonna be up with his squad, as he should, I think adding more ammo would help.

But, in doing this, I could see more guys hanging back and sniping from afar with 5 clips or something...

Just a thought... I imagine a guy with an M-14(or something already ingame), not afraid to pop off a few rounds, blasting guys from mounted guns, taking out snipers and stuff so his squad can move up.

When I see the DM rifle, its good, but so limited in ammo Im always on the ready to run over and pick up someones m16...

but, who am I? OkitaMakoto, that's right : )

You guys all have valid points about having snipers in game and I agree with you especially:

I still feel there are too many on one map, and one per team should suffice.

Not if they are insurgents they cant. Hunter kit is unlimited. And who the hell goes hunting wildlife with a SVD?! He should have a low powered hunting rifle, but still leathle to the head. That way you have to be really good to use it(like a skilled hunter would be) and if you just chose it all the time you get killed(as 3/4 hunters would be because they would be **** at it). All they should get is a hunting rifle and knife.....hunting rifle.....knife. No more. No less.

depends what you are hunting.. For deer (which is the one I'm interested in :P ) you use rifles which fire a 7.62mm round. (same size as the rounds the SVD uses)

But a low powered hunting rifle? Like for shooting ... birds?

If the sniper covers, great, good, if they lone wolf... well you're boned...
I play sniper, I form a 2 man fireteam, I have a spotter or a pointman, and I communicate with the commander. In my opinion we need guys to do that if they're going with a sniper. And a DMR, you should be in and with a squad on that one.

LOL
they go hunting camels.(ok joking)
i think the hunter is suppose to repersent someone who hunts wildlife, then has joined the insurgency because of his natural marksman talents he is issued a SVD.

they are opposite of the militery trained snipers of the US

I was playing as a sniper on EJOD and another sniper was next to me on the roof tops, what a deadly combination, take out entire squads and makes sure the roofs are always clear.

Why? It was in Desert Combat. Is BF2 even worse than 1942?
