Its a tough one, i think if you're inside the capable area of the flag then shooting anyone spawning is ok, but then you've got the problem of squad members supporting you from outside the flag area. Personally if i spawn at the base that can be capped i'm takin the risk that i'll be shot as soon as i appear.Hauler wrote:Well I mean if you sit there and wait for people to spawn without going for the flag or having any mind to do it. If you sit there and wait for people to spawn and then shoot them that is cheap if your going for the flag and they spawn yea kill them no prob. But if you have no intrest in getting the flag then yeah it is a noob thing to do and thats not what this game is all about. If you like that go to regular BF2 and play.

Well, a number of occasions I've had to leave an area because the enemy over runs it, chucks a grenade in etc, it CAN happen, just not often.mammikoura wrote:a rifleman should never be out of ammo bags. Never!
When you throw your last ammo bag away, you stand on it for like 10 seconds and get a new ammo bag. Simple as that.

And he gets angry if you don't...JP*wasteland.soldier wrote:A note to everybody: when Michael Denmark gives you an order, you follow the damn order. He's the best commander I've ever had the oppurtunity and pleasure of working with.
I like a commander with Voip. Without it I only have his orders to decide whether he's a retard and whether I should ignore him or not. Problem is that often he has more info than me, so an order that may look mad to me may make sense given the bigger picture he has. Again communication is the key.

I don’t get angry. And I am in general speaking very communicative as squad member, squad leader and commander.
Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

Yeah, sorry that came across wrong. I didn't mean agressive/nasty angry. I just remember you getting frustrated by one squad that was being a total pain i.e. at wrong flag doing nothing useful. "Could you PLEASE move to flag x squad 2, its under attack." - clear orders, with explainations of why your asking it etc. Its was just the subtext that you would have prefered to have him shot for insubordinationMichael_Denmark wrote:I don’t get angry. I'll often wait outside the cap radius with a DMR to support my squad. There's no point in everybody going in and making themselves nade fodder. Like you said, if you spawned at the front flag, you took the risk. And if you spawn there a second time in a row, you're an idiot.bobhoskino wrote:Its a tough one, i think if you're inside the capable area of the flag then shooting anyone spawning is ok, but then you've got the problem of squad members supporting you from outside the flag area. Aside from that, I'd have to say one of the best things about Michael's commanding is that if you're the squad currently most in the shit, he'll stay on his sat. view and give you detailed instructions, like "two hostiles behind blue dumpster down alley to your right, one possibly a grenadier". That kind of thing is invaluable, and really instills confidence in his orders.
OK, new complaint: Half the people on the pub servers not only don't have a mic, they're either playing with sound or VOIP switched off, and can't even hear you! You don't need a mic to hear people, and it's so much easier if you can at least communicate to your squad mates, even if it is only one way. I understand not everybody speaks english, and some people may have VOIP off so they can focus on TS, but I know there's a healthy contingent of people without clan tags, who can text in english just fine, who for some reason don't hear my VOIP commands.

I have found out how truly horrible my typing is when I'm trying to communicate only by text with squads and I have no time to proofread what I wrote.
I was thinking of paying the gf to sit on my lap and type for me so I can pass info to the non squad members.
I never even thought about people who have VIOP turned off and never hear me.
I know this sounds snobby but, if you have VIOP toggled off, you don't belong playing PR.
If you can't hear the commander and have to depend on those few commands he can give with the stock menu , it's hopeless.
I'm really looking foward to the rumored commander upgrades in .5 and wish we could get the message out more that VIOP is what makes this game really hum along.
Edit: I had another idea.
Can we get a little phrase book made up of say about 10 basic commands in 4-5 languages so we can print it out and keep it next to the monitor.
All i can say a direction and distance in spanish(badly) but we need german, portuguese, swedish at least.
I think this would also bring the community, espcially the Americans, into a more reality based experience of working closley with troops from another country and the commo problems that entails.

And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

I don't see why this is needed, if you are really playing as a team you should have a common language. If someone doesn't speak english then in my opinion it's their bad. They can always make a squad in which they speak their own language if they wish to do so. And I'm pretty sure that if you stick a note saying something in portugese in front of me and I try to read it, 70% of portugese people won't have any idea what I just said.ArmedDrunk&Angry wrote:I had another idea.

Well if anyone wants to use the time on it, maybe we could make a thread where people could upload i.e. 10 different commands in their native langue. Maybe some could upload a sound file with these commands, so u got something to learn from.
I think it could be cool to try working with an ONLY Spanish, German, French, Brazilian, Russian squad etcetera. It would be a fun challenge. (Not that the English already is to a non-native player, but another langue could also be fun.)
Also, please keep in mind that we actually do have a lot of players whom aren’t that strong in the English langue.
I think sometimes, that a few English native players forget the fact that it’s not always that easy to try playing this dynamic game of PR in a foreign langue.
I my self tried a few weeks ago to lead a small squad with only Danish players. O boy was that easy in compare to when I try to lead a squad in English. I basically experienced that I thought faster and things in general was much easier than normal.
Also i didn’t talk as much as i normally do when i try to lead in English?
Guess that in u own langue u don’t have to, since the brain doesn’t use energy to translate/searching for specific words.

Nice round on TB michael btw
It`s somehow strange. Sometimes you got perfect teamwork even with new players...the other day everyone f***s up...weird.

IF you dont speak English as your primary language and your on a US server, ask the people talking to talk slower and perhaps more clearly. I know for a fact that I start rambling on about something of no importance a lot of the time. If someone in my squad doesn't speak really good english I always slow down what I am saying, unless of course its a very hostile situation where ASAP means yesterday.
