PR does not need to pay for advertising. We have hundreds of active forum members. We need a batch of good images and logos we can plaster in people's sigs for other forums, well editted videos to put on youtube and link to from game forums and email webmasters to feature PR for a week. In short, we need a nicely organized media kit the community can use to promote the mod.

well i can tell you how things were in my clan:
We all bought BF2 (dozen of us) and play it for a few months, than started complaints to weapons and playabillty, prone dive, missing obvious shots etc... well, most common vBF2 flaws.
Some of us get our hands on PR, loved it at first sight and started to invite other clanmates to play this mod instead of vBF2.
Basicly half of them didnt like it couse spawn times are long (longer than they were used on vBF2) and the other half was bitchin about werry large download size of mod and didn't want to bother with it.
That were 2 major things that rejected them from this mod.

The long spawn times don't seem very long now after playing for 8-9 months until I play a little nilla then I notive how fast I spawn.
The spawn times are great and I don't have any sympathy for people who can't wait 30-60 seconds to get another life.
I would donate to an advertising campaign as I have gotten almost as many hours of playing from PR than I did from almost twice as long playing vBF and it was free.
If I have a computer problem, even if it's not PR related, I post my question and I get an answer that works and feedback to tune the answer if need be.
If recruiting is the issue I don't think the nilla population is the place to go anyway.
I mention PR whenever I play RO because I think that people who play that game would like PR for it's teamwork and tactics.
The word needs to be spread among tactical gamers not run and gunners.

Well getting back to topic: "Quake Wars" and the possibility of porting PRm over; I just read an interesting interview of Splash Damage's lead designer Paul Wedgewood. Check this excerpt:
How many players can join a battle? (edit)
There’s no restriction on the maximum that a server administrator can set, beyond the physical hardware specification of the server itself.

Yes, but I believe the mapping and level design technology is limited to approximately 1km square maps.
Again wouldn't make too much outta an ET:QW move for Project Reality .. it's just an idea we've tossed around, but there are other possibilities as well.
In any case, I think through 2007 you'll see us experiment with some stuff on the BF2 engine that will be innovative and hopefully augment the game play with some realistic metaphors that keep thing fun and dynamic and at the same time enhancing realism and teamplay.

Have you considered the Alliance engine? It already supports over two hundred weapons, and looks pretty sweet. Plus the game has no crosshairs and supposedly realistic ballistics already. Might be a good platform if you guys decide to move from BF2. Check out the engine movies, very impressive.

It is supposed to come out sometime this year. I don't know anything about game design, just thought it might interest the Developers. I just noticed that on the bottom of the movie trailer download page there is a trailer for a game listed as a new Alliance gameplay trailer, but it is not. It's some cheesy WWII game. The official gameplay trailer looks good though. The maps look big, there are destroyable buildings and items, and you can use dead guys as human shields, lol.DrTH wrote:is that game even out yet?

Are you telling me that the language barrier issues are such that you don't understand that the term "arcade" would be received in a derogatory manner by folks such as ourselves who are developing a realism and teamplay oriented mod?
Please list for me the "arcade" features you think we want to keep?
