alright, so the feeling that this makes it look like GTA is mroe important than reality? I am saying htat if you are covering and intersection or something and you have a gunner and you are idling, its not like a drivebay with an SMG sticking out the window and wahtnot but im just not gonna argu it anymore because nothing i say will get put in anyway

ive had hte attitide that i could get possibly some ideas put in but every idea i have that is real everyone jsut syas no so i give up. have your precus mod to yourself because the way i look at it i HAVE to get RC for 21cw tourny. So since yours is jsut another "cookie cutter" mod no need in supporting it because it has the same feature as the rest.

yeah dont fel shot down super6, ive had some ideas that i thought were great and they got shot down pretty bad. its hit and miss sometimes.

personally, i dont think IRL it is used enough to put into this mod. im sure its only used when the two guys in the back get shot or the gunner is shot, and if all those guys are shot, well you should probably only be worried about getting hte heck out of there. this wasnt a bad idea, i just think there are other things to worry about at this point in the mod.

right i tried getting a storyline thread going and it got overtaken by stuff the community felt was more immediately important (you ********! :D ) but thats okay cause we are a community and as ive said, not all the ideas, great or otherwise, get off the ground, its a process.

Guys you all do need to understand how much we appreciate your work that you do. Every single comment that you make we look at and discuss. We make an effort to try and implement the things which you want in your mod. We are not making the mod for ourselves, we are making for you realism junkies! Super6 we listen to your comments dont worry, the U-60 improvments were a good idea and I especially liked your emergency beacon idea (seeing as I had forgotten about it and it did allow us to relook into rescue operations) ! So just because people disagree don't give up hope, we still listen to your ideas because we enjoy doing it, why else would we be here!
So keep up the good work... All of ya! And play nice!

Driving and Shooting

Yes, some personnel are trained to drive and shoot. I haven't heard of it for general military convoy operations, but I have heard of it for close-protection/evasive driving (motorcades / executive convoys) and sometimes for pursuit driving. We're talking groups like Secret Service Protective Division/Counter-Assault Team, State Department Diplomatic Security Service / Mobile Security Division, CIA Special Activities Staff/Military Special Projects, counterterrorism units (DEVGRU, SFOD-D) and some military police / security units that have an anti-terrorism or close protection mission (Marine Security Guard embassy detachments come to mind). Keep in mind, this is training for personnel who have to range qualify at a certain criteria with their off hands and have to be pretty high-speed to go out for their jobs in the first place.

I am not familiar with it myself, but I would guess this is something that you should probably do only if you're in dire straits and have to traverse minimal obstacles; the both hands on the wheel (or one on the wheel and one on the gearshift) rule from high school driver's ed probably still applies. Unless he has no or minimal assistance to cover him, the driver should be concentrating on doing just that- driving, in the general direction of Thefuckouttadodge. Some specially manufactured vehicles do have gunports for the driver and other personnel, but otherwise, you're going to have to roll it down or shoot through it.

In Terms of the Game . . .

As for implementing it, not sure how it could be done, since I am not a scripter. Yes, there are passenger positions that allow you to fire your individual weapons, but unfortunately there isn't a limitation on what weapons you can fire, except for the firing ports, such as on the LAV, which are treated like gun turrets (one weapon with a fixed amount of ammo). I suppose it could be done in that latter way, only making the driver weapon an appropriate sidearm for the origin of the vehicle with appropriate number of magazines.

However, this would take a button that could be used for something that might add to the driving experience, like a handbrake (if that could be implemented), or smoke grenade launchers (some light vehicles are equipped with them), unless the aircraft weapon switching system could be adapted. Also, it would mean that the driver would be unprotected in his field of fire and could be damaged in the vehicle. Not sure if the pistol could only be operational in the appropriate field of fire. The potential for abuse with that system comes in buddyfuckers who would try to shoot their own passengers. I will talk with coders more about this, and if it's workable, it could be interesting.

I think any idea that brins more realismn in to this mod the better. and since your quite aware of surroundings and limited to shooting out the window i dont see why this idea would not be taken very seriously.
When shooting leaning your rifle on the window ledge of a car provides more stabality then in prone (allthough not when moving obv).
it would be cool to stop and you passenger whip out his sniper in the back while you pop out your m4 incase you see anyone.

And obviously all mods are going to be looking good and being more realistic then BF2. The more unique features this mod has the more popular it will be.

Thats why you still have people playing BF mods and not BF2 even though they have both.
