@BrokenArrow
My Definition of SF is more like Delta Force, Spetznaz, SEAL, etc.

I am not asking for an official Rank server but more of a side thing, so you guys can input more stuff into the MOD.
Isnt it a part of Reality? no? Like i mention, privates wont be allow to fly a Harrier or even fly at all. (Am i right?)
So adding into the MOD, something like you have to be of this rank to beable to fly? or even add something Americas Army did (tho probably impossible) like their single player qualification test. To be a medic, you need to beable to pass the test. to be SF you need to pass the SF test.
Of course this falls into the "How realistic can you go?" topic.
@Beckwith
I know what you mean. a buddy of mine shut down his BF2 server because it cant be ranked. And how he cant even modify it even if it was unranked.

Before we start a coup to overthrow EA over this, might i suggest that someone tarts a thred on the EA games forum, showing them what a great idea a PRMM server could be? Its all very good telling us to try and get one but EA listen more to the community than the Mods probably (seeing as the million BF2 owners gave them so much ca$h). If that fails I say we send in Figisaacnewton on a rambo style mission, to capture mike, and show him how serious we take gaming

I am sure they can change the amount of points for rank up instead of being like EA that ask for a rediculous amounts. like 15 million or was it 25 million. For top rank.Beckwith wrote:i pray it impossible
im soooo sick of this stupid ranking **** its retarded if you wanna get promoted and get medals play MOH this is Battlefield its not about who has the most points its about the fight
The game doesnt have to be about medals.. It is just a phase right now.. and im sure there are plenty that doesnt care about medals and badges but are just playing rank unlock 1 or 2 weapons.
Tho you may be right. The idea i through in for Realism is not really ideal for a game. But i would still like a rank cause seening that Corporal Sign over my head has a nice feeling.

Welcome!Ackon wrote:Hi new to this community, this mod looks really nice. Looking foward to the minimod aswell as the full mod.
To add a suggestion, EA is counting on MODs to make this game last. It is possible for every mod team out there, to band up, and tell EA.
"We refuse to create any mods for Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2: Special Forces, Until you let our MODs run on ranked servers. Or even give the community a seperate Rank server database for servers that have modded BF2/python files. This way it insures EA integrety and still allow the MODing community to use every feature possible."
Where I appreciate your thought and enthusiasm, I have to say I can't agree with the leveraging against EA. Personally, I think we should give EA a chance to look into allowing ranked play with mods.
After all, I didn't join this mod team to further EA's bottom line. I can tell you no one else (except Fort, he has stock in EA and he's evil... JK) on this team is in it for EA. We do it for the you guys and the fun that comes of it all. And I don't think we should stop our fun or work for you guys to force EA into a decision.
The best we can do is, collectively, and respectifully, contact EA and present our points. That's something I've been doing over the course of the past 3 months and all my points have been met with respect, understanding, and with positive responses.
You get what you give, you know.
That's my take.

I think EA should provide an 'unpure' server binary that communities could run amongst themselves & adapt to how they see fit. It would mean a high ranking commander on the field really is a good commander rather than some kiddie who spawn camps everyday as the admins could assign instant rank to select responsible, proven individuals. Stats can be a good thing IMHO, but certainly not the way they are ran right now.

Yet again I agree with Beck!feels good ripping on the stat whores doesnt it?solodude23 wrote:
Actually it normally means some kiddie with too much time on his hands that play all day....who spawn camps....stat whores....and only racks up his points using artillery as a commander.
It's even more fun showing them that being a stat whore doesn't always men you are any good at the game
