Rhino & Dev crew,
Love it, getting my butt kicked up oneside of Basrah and down the other. Seems like a lot of new players with the release, hopefully they will de-noobify them selves pretty quickly, realize this is not Vanilla BF2, and become good players soon. Cobra is a thing of beauty, even on the recieving end of that nose gun. Iron sights on the mounted guns are a blessing. New visuals are more than worth the initial purchase of BF2 just to see them.
Now got another Q for you...
So there I was, capping the flag with my SL sitting in the tank as I was wrenching some repairs. I got capped by a sniper and had to respawn on the SL. Problem was that I didn't have a crewman kit when I spawned. So I hopped out of the tank and requested it, but you can't get the kit unless you are at a resupply zone. Once the flag was capped I requested again and was told "I can't issue you another kit so soon after your last." Well, now this is a problem, it is a huge impediment to armor crews. Even if the rest of the squad is nearby, they will not be able to jump into the tank unless someone runs to a resupply or the SL exposes himself to set a rally point (which would not have worked here as we were too close to the flag). The time penalty is also a problem here if your goal is to keep armor crews together (and not allow non-squad members to jump in).
OK, maybe its not a Q, more of a gripe, but what's the chances of this being changed for the next patch?
One other observation, everytime you jump into the gunner's seat (as in your SL got capped and now you're solo in the tank until he or some other squad mate can kit up and join you) you have to wait for the main gun to load, and it loads a SABOT by default. Any way to maintain the last loaded round (there was no armor around but lots of infantry).
Thanks,
Cow with wood (thanks to the mod!!! MOOOOOO)

I agree, they should fix this, and the same thing with Pilot and Officer kits. My squad spent most of one round sitting on the carrier waiting to be able to get new officer and pilot kits, get out on the beach, get fragged, lose Rally, spawn on carrier, repeat cycle.Liquid_Cow wrote:Rhino & Dev crew,

Unlucky, but i must add it does give the SLs and Crewman and incentive to STAY ALIVE!
I have had many situations as an SL and not having an officer kit BUT your just have to be resoursfull - you are stil a SPWN point - a small change of tactica back to .4 is often the best way.
With the crew man kit, it has the same affect - look after your vehicles. I know there are many situations where you do your best but you cant prevent death and you cant get a new kit but overall the delay is a good thing, albeit a small adjustement for certain kits would be very much welcomes (officer and Crew).

Thats exactly what I was doing today, I had hooked up with a great driver/SL and we bushwacked a pair of APC's and an Abrams. We took some minor damage so after the fight I hopped out to repair, just then another M-1 shot at us, missing our track but I ended up getting killed. Suddenly my SL was alone with not one but two tanks hunting him. He ran as fast he could, good enough that I could spawn back with him, he stopped but I could not get a kit before the Abrams caught up to us, we ended up being a grease spot on the road shortly there after.Top _Cat the great wrote:With the crew man kit, it has the same affect - look after your vehicles.
Another thing which I'd like to see in the mod, which I felt was missing in Vanilla BF2 is a dedicated Air to Ground radio channel. Relaying through the commander does not work, the ground pounders need to be able to communicate directly with the snakes overhead when they are pinned down. It forces larger teams to abandon VOIP and goto TSX or Vent, but then you get too much chatter and comms become ineffective.
