It's unfortunate that if your team has one good squad you still can't wipe the floor since one CP is lost everytime you cap the other.

I haven't decided yet if I disagree with you or not. It does make gameplay more interresting that 6 players can't wipe the floor with 30 green cherries.

Or the other way around, when I am on a loosing streak and take a look at the roster for the opposing team and find not 1, but 3 fully packed all-stars squads, I am really left with only 2 options. Grin and bear it, or quit and find another server. I usually go for option 1 and try to find that weakpoint in their defence/attack and exploit it.

(who am I kidding? I go and get myself a beer and hope the round ends soon)

I've been playing this mod for a little over 2 weeks, which I assume brands me as a "newb" still

. First of all this is a great mod. In fact, its the soul reason I came back to playing BF2. But it is sort of true that this isn't exactly a redeeming community. I'm sure that a newb could read the wiki 2 times over before hopping in game and STILL make some newbish mistakes. This mod isn't by any means a "Mini-mod". It's a full fledged overhaul of basically EVERY arcade aspect of BF2. That being said, I don't think its fair to blame all of their mistakes on ROFLNEWBTUBE battlefield 2 tendencies. Some of them, for sure. Actually, probably most of them. But I for one had a pretty rough time adapting despite reading up on the game before hand. I remember one time I accidentally TKed this one person. For rounds and rounds after I couldn't join his squad without being kicked, if I joined a squad he was in he'd leave, not to mention he ran his mouth despite my apologizing. I don't make very many stupid mistakes anymore but that seemed a bit harsh to me. Anyways, this mod is the sex and I'm gonna go play it now.

Its the CDU server

This server is absolutely horrible. They have the spawn at 15 seconds, and the kit timers at less than a minute for all limited kits. I went in yesterday telling them "Why does this server advocate short spawn times?? the long spawn times are there to encourage less dying and more tactical play style" I got TONS of replys from both teams

"OMGZORS! STFU AND PLAY"

"STFU Noob, its about having fun, who wants to wait for stupid timers"

"Stop Whining *****"

Among many other things about half the stupid *** server said.

I'm pretty sure they just download the mod to play it like a vanilla game for the hell of it. Servers like this are not right and they promote the wrong kind of game play to new people in PR.

I can't quite grasp the fact that people download a MOD that is entirely about incorporating as many elements of realism as possible without making it boring...and then complain about the realistic parts. Why in the hell did they switch from Vanilla in the first place? I'm just stunned that people would download give or take around 1GB of stuff and expect it to be like Vanilla...
One last thing for my own personal sanity and sorry for going off topic, could people stop saying "n00b"? Yes there are new players, so help them out. As for calling the Vanilla-add on people "n00bs"...well let's just say there are more colourful things you can call them that don't make you look like an 11 year old.

Unfortunately, i have noticed many server springing up that have chosen specifily to remove the long spawn times. As a result, its chaos when someone lays a RP. Whenever you get near it to destroy it, three guys you just killed(your still reloading the dam clip) pop out of the ground like cabbage patch kids and spec ops you to the floor. I would like to see this hard coded somehow so that it cannot be changed. Its rediculous and is attracting unwanted attenion from some unwantted players and styles of gameplay. It completely undermines PR.

This kind of thing will generate bad PR players (and all of us will suffer as a result). Either play PR or do not. That means live with the official restrictions whatever they may be.

I officially suck with the insurgent m203 equivalent. It does not obey the laws of physics. I will stick to IEDs... Those who suffered my team killing yesterday on the Dev server know what I am talking about - I think that includes Fuzzhead and Maistros (or at least Maistros was a witness).

OT: Been playing PR on and off now since .5 released, and I've read the wiki more times than i can type wiki

Anywho, I have been in many a squad requesting to the SL what kit he wants me to play and nothing, so i chose my own kit and follow orders until he says, WTF, why haven't you got XYZ kit??? I'm like, I asked you about 10 times on chat and mic, give me a break.

He could possibly be a noob too, but it's happend more times than i can type wiki....

I agree totally. I think the servers should be locked down in such a way as to elimate these kinds of things from happening. I hope that all ways to modifly weapons and such on the servers have already been locked down. I've played on some servers (can't remember name) where the weapons seem to be modified as well. Seems most noticable with Nade launchers and light AT at the moment. If servers are allowed to change all this stuff, then we may end up with 20 or more versions of PR. Which would suck cause that would mean that you would have to "re-learn" how to play on each new server you connect to. I say lock the servers down so they are all the same. But do allow server owners to determine little things like what maps they want loaded and other little stuff like that. Just my 2 cents...
