Littlebird's Weight
The weight of the littlebird is to little. The aircrafts flips to easily (and Im not talking about if you give full gass before the enigens are ready). If I land the aircraft on solid, even ground and throttle all the way back and let go of the stick, the aircraft has a tendency to turn over in some direction. Im not really sure how the physics system works in BF2, but it seems the center of gravity is wrongly placed or the weight of the aircraft is to little.
I feel this impacts the realism of the mod and may be the reason that 1/3 of all choppers are lost due to flipping over.
I hope you are able to do something with this, as its very irritating to have to fight with the aircraft even though your on the ground and have no throttle.

god compared to its original release it is perfect we didn't use to be able to get it off the ground and when you did it would pitch in some wired direction.

I have a joystick that I set the throttle to hover neutral which makes it much easier, then I just take it easy when landing. In hostile area, I just hover and dont land 3ft off the ground, or find some water to let them jump into.
My problem is the BH's take waaaaaayyy too long to land. -2 ft/s at full throttle down is silly.

Come in at an angle and flare your landing (nose up before you hit the ground and put in a touch of throttle) and you can usually land within 2 seconds .....works best with littlebirds really'[3UK wrote:2RT|Maj.GloryAndPain']

I've practiced quick landings with the LB and yeah you have to dive in then tilt back..if you try to hover then land you'll be brown bread before you know it. I do agree with the original poster that the thing tips over pretty easy.
also i was flying the LB and then looked at my map to see where the best LZ would be...thats a no no you end up turning into a lawn dart!

Ofcourse its possible to fly the aircrafts, but it's still not like it should be. I don't know why the rate of decent is so low in the BH, it seems to be there to help new players to land the aircraft since its as close to impossible to crash the aircraft at that speed. But I don't belive you should "childproof" the aircrafts. And you shouldn't create "artifical" problems just to make choppers hard to use. Try to make the controls feel as natural and real as possible with all the positive and negative features that bring.

There are a couple things that aren't quite keeping with the continuity-
While mucking around offline I was flying the little bird sideways. Doing this by banking to the left and then counteracting the turn with some right rudder.
As far as I can tell that's as it should be.
Trying the same in the Cobra just results in a very wild form of a left turn.
Haven't tried it in a black hawk yet.

They have added a feature to simulate the fact that the tailrudder loses much of it's effect to turn the aircraft, when the helicopter its flying at high speeds.
Ingame it means when the aircraft reaches a sertain speed almost all (if not all) rudder controll is lost, and you have to bank the aircraft to the sides to make it turn (like a normal fixed-wing aircraft). Maby this feature kicked in if you where flying sideways fast enough.
