If you are not bleeding, or screaming in pain.. you're probably good to go.
If you are bleeding, and screaming in pain you are probably injured.
If you are coughing and the vision is blurring, well you're about to meet your maker.
Good enough health bar for most of us
In real life, you don't have vital stats. You have to figure it out for yourself by looking at your wounds. In the same regard, you should be able to "figure it out" based on if you're bleeding to death, coughing, or not.
With regards to friendly fire and the tags, well congratulations you're playing a video game that is attempting to be very realistic. We're attempting to get from as many "Arcade" elements we can. So, in real life you CAN NOT be a "shoot first, ask later guy" or you will probably be serving a ton of time in military prison. You must identify your targets, again using common sense. For the most part, the uniforms of both forces are different enough to distinguish apart. Look for hats, colors, and shapes. Target acquisition takes patience and a much slower pace of game-play. If you can't handle patience or slow paces, then you're playing the wrong mod. Learn to identify your targets based on other things such as color, shape, and specifics and you will never need those "training wheel" tags again.
Personally, I would much rather see no name tags until I am within 0m-1m of the player, and even then it should take 4 seconds to reveal. (Simulates reading the person's uniform name tag, and guessing how to pronounce it)
