Now, if the barrel is damaged/slightly altered by just the bullet, imagine what even a small piece of metal would do to the barrel.
First off, tanks main cannons do not shoot "bullets". Secondly, I have never heard of a modern smoothbore taking damage after every round that it fires . According to you, eventually the tanks gun would be so innaccurate that it would have to be taken out of service. Unless of course your trying to be a smart *** with some theory like "well, after every shot the tank makes, atoms get shed from the inside of the barrel" in which case I think this discussion is over.
