for technical reasons it can't be a limited kit .. nor would that make any sense in my perspective.

in my opinion (remember opinion :D ) having a team full of civies would not make any sense as I can see it happening in the first week. 'omg civi kit lets get it yay...' no disrespect it was just an idea!

Round would be over in no time.

The Marine Corp would capture the flags in minutes. Civis do not affect the flag orb.

Then go back and have a good oll fashion drag net.

If you have no flags, no spawn (i think) then each civi will be hunted down and fully man-handled.

___

But your right the first weeks the Tangos will be getting their arse handed to them by the Corp.

Hopefully things will return to more normal playing.

Also, the punishment for being captued should be high in order to prevent over use.

What I would like to see is every insurgent spawns as a civilians with no weapons. There would be pickup weapons all over the map or a insurgent leader that you could request then from. And while a civilian class (kit) the other team gets negative point for killing you. But once you request/pickup a kit then the other team can shoot you.

Kinda hard...but it would be crazy

Insurgents: Spawn Menu
Insurgent leader (AK, ammo, bomb, Weapon request!) limited spots/kits
Civilian (Movtal cocktail)
Civilian (Rock)
Civilian (Rock)
Civilian (Medic)
Civilian (triable leader look)

Civilian Request kits:
RPG kit
IED kit
Sniper Kit
Others

US team (or other)
2 second spawn time added to every Civilian kill (or something like that)

Yeah we'd like to do something like that in the future .. would be a separate game mode and could possibly be where we go with insurgency in general. Need to see how the initial civilian stuff pans out.

i was thinking alot about this idea and i like it, players will not gonna spawn as a civilan so often because, people likes to shoot.

i really like the idea now.

BUT WE NEED AUTOMATED SWAPPING TEAMS ON SERVERS!!!

Man more slots would be nice. Dunno if it could be coded or not.

Why the odd number? :? : Teams would not be even.

____

I supose the assault by the Corp will be a surprise one in order to catch as many tangos as they can before they slip out of the city.

Will the mission briefing change for Al Bas to be more realistic. I never was a big fan of the tanks the tangos had.

A good tactic the insurg could do is have the civi as point man (walking a good 20-75 meters in front) when heading somewhere on foot.

This would be a complete female dog for the Corp.

Forcing the Corp to stop and assess the situation before firing will be a nice advantage for the tangos.

Example, a couple of humans run across a street while an APC is down the road. The gunner zooms in and trys to identify them, by the time he reliazes they are hostile they have already made it to the other side of the street.

That's what it is like in such battlefield conditions. You do not know if it is a mother and her kid running home or whatever, or a high ranking dude for the tangos.

____

Another tactic would be to simply go solo and keep the Corp honest.

What I plan on doing is walking up toward the VCP where the Corp start out. If they kill me, they lose assests and the war on terror gets harder for them. If they let me be, I get good intel. If they chase me down, that is a few less grunts assaulting CPs.

___

Another kick arse thing to do is let the Civis have the motor bikes and park them in an alley, then walk around on the streets making a scene. When a Corp patrol arives, they run to the alley and jump on their bike and steal away into the inner city, again, less Devil Dogs on assaulting the flag orbs.

___

What the Corp will need are good SLs who know when to arrest some civs and when to assault the orbs.

Maybe the Corp should have a police squad to go check out civi disturbances.

civilians sound sort of fun, but the idea of american soldiers running after them while brandishing their ka-bars sounds a little retarded and 'gheymey' to me

Someone please tell me that the above is irony.

Now civilians would only be good if they were AI's because playing them would be as much fun as watching Desertfox sleep, which can be fun!

For now they shouldn't be able to use vehicles also, lets keep this simple for now.

Tho it would be nice if they could moon the troops ;)
They should be able to pick up kits of fallen soldiers. Just like IRL a civillian can suddenly decide to join the insurgency. That is basically what insurgents are, disgruntled civilians that turn violent.

sorry to bump the thread but, what do you guys think is worse, a civilian kill or a team kill? (assuming both are accidental)

A civilian kill is worse, it causes a ticket punishment to the team that killed the civilian

I think it would be cool if the usmc soldiers could seize the civilians with zippties if you sneaked up on one of them, don't know what you would to with em, I guess it would count as a death for the civillians
