Just a thought,

on some maps like Mashtuur or other BH maps why not only supply parachutes to the Black Hawk/MEC Pilots, but only for 1 time, ie if needing to escape from chopper (if this is possible?). I remember the DC map Lost Village no Para and found it really interesting that the passengers could only leave the chopper when it landed, showing up poor pilots and pilots who were able to read the situation and help their team.

What do you think??

parachutes are removed now, as you probably know. i think there is talk of a pilot class which will be equiped with 1 time chutes if possible.

As far as I know, Spec ops gets chutes in PRMM .1 and you can probably bet that there will be a pilot class like Brokenarrow said.

Sound good about SpecOps and Pilots only having chutes; more then fine with me if only the Pilots have them.

Question: would it be feasible to add fast ropes to choppers? Maybe have a crew chief position and he can kick em out and then detach them, one time use thing maybe?

fast rope would be really cool, cuz i think it would be really realistic if a piliot could plant then on a roof, i like that a lot more than para. good idea.

yeah, but since they're adding the littlebird it would be just as easy to just LAND on the roof....

That depends.

If they make damage realistic, a Blackhawk should pretty much spin out of control the second that it bumps a building.

So the blackhawk chopper wouldn't be able to land on a building because it would be too dangerous for the chopper (think about why a real blackhawk in real life does not land on a small friggin roof ).

thats why i said littelbird. :?

the blackhawk or uh-60 is BIG. the littlebird or mh-6 is SMALL. the littlebird is the thing in my sig. and that's small enough to land on a roof.

I believe that the PR mod intends to add a Pilot class at some point. Although unrealistic it would be acceptibale to allow the Pilots to have parachutes regardless of personal Flying preferences. It will also be quite amusing as the only person who will survive is the Pilot as opposed to now, where the Pilot most assuredly dies, while trying to keep the bird up long enough for the n00b in the back to realise it's all gone pear shaped. The other thing is that pilots should have something going for them, lets face it they may survive the crash, but they is goin' nowhere with the standard issue flare gun and tube of toothpaste, hell maybe even give them a big stick to chase of enemy armor.

a flare gun y, the map is small and who is going to go and pick up a piolet in the game. we die and respawn all the time. no one will be going to go out to pick up a piolet un less maby it is a flare that brings in bots to pick him up and back to the planes affter some time to.

i think pilot should get m9 mp5 flare gun and maybe like a one time use medpack

i think there should be a definition between fixed and rotary wing aircraft, rotary pilots can only fly choppers and dont get chutes, fixed wingers get chutes but can only fly jets and the like.

Would it be possible to lock aircraft to a pilot kit and then lock parachutes as a pick up kit attached to fixed wing aircraft?

would make things a little easier, depending how you look at it (not if your the poor dev who has to figure out how :P )

i have no idea if it's even possible, but how about this;

pilot class: can pilot both choppers and fixed wing. has no parachute.

when a pilot enters a fixed wing aircraft, nothing changes. however, the ejection seat is a 'weapon' in the aircraft and when it's 'fired' you eject, fly up a bit, and your parachute opens.

again, i don't even know if it's possible but it's an idea.

with this new piolt jump parashoot can you make it whare you can Halo to and another thing that anoyed me is to raise the hight you can paraout from if you are 40feet and pull parashoot you live wtf? make the hight value more for para to work and a fail value at 10% or so thanks

How about removing the planes and using the helos only? Planes make the game uneven anyway, doing one bombrun after another. No chutes for everybody, problem solved. Or at least the plane has to land and taxi to a certain spot next to the runway if he wants refit repair ( plane must touch the ground!!! ). No more flyby rep and rearm.
He who fights and runs away can run away another day.
