Why dont you add distand gun sound? I mean Realtime, not scripted shit.
I mean, like in albashra, than when firing a AK47 at moque, you will hear echoes (not really echous but I can explain it better) at the facility.
You should hear the distant tanks firing their mainguns, you should hear the A-10 MG tear and not just reciev the sound of the bullet hitting the ground around you...
Adding realtime distant sound will make this mod 100% more immersive! Reality for the win!

I think in vanilla bf2 in front of the mosque on the jalabad mosque you can hear something that sounds like a call to prayer or somethingcharliegrs wrote: what i think would be the coolest of all, say in a map like basrah or any middle east map with a city, would be the muslim call to prayer that is played from the loudspeakers from the mosques. its so loud it can be heard all over the city and they do this in every muslim country. ive watched iraq combat videos of marines fighting insurgents and you can hear the call to prayer in the background. the insurgents even use the loudspeakers to inform other insurgents that americans are in the area. i think it would add a really cool touch of realism to a map.
and is it at all possible to centralize a sound liek that? say to like a city area or within a certain range of a mosque? it would be kinda dumb to hear it all the way at the airport in basrah.

It's not possible with the BF2 Engine.Wattershed wrote:Why dont you add distand gun sound? I mean Realtime, not scripted shit.

We did an urban combat scenario for military training, they played all kinds of ambient noise over loudspeakers - gunshots, artillery, mortars, screaming, helicopters, jets. Really loud stuff almost non stop. Then partway through it a call to prayer started up in the noise. It was quite amazing really. Between my squadmates, 'fake' gun, and all of the sounds it really made me feel like turning the next building corner could be my last.
But that was a scenario and our guns didn't make their own noises, we didn't have helos or real jets flying around, and no one was dying. The game sounds can be confusing enough already - I run ultra high settings with Xfi and there are a TON of things to listen to. If there were ambient gunshots going off I'd probably end up chasing one of them around only to find empty space. Its too bad about the call to prayer though, because I think it would add a lot. Hearing that come over in the scenario was almost chilling.
