One of my favorite tactics in PR is getting behind enemy lines with Spec Ops kit and destroying Rally Points and Artillery pieces. I love when people complain that there aren't any Rally Points left.

Thats why I never land
I'll hover close enough to the ground for the passengers to jump in or get out without getting hurt, but I'm not going to land.

Yeh great tip, NEVER land the LB unless you REALLY have to .Things get really messy really fast if you try (unless your an expert pilot), especially on uneven ground.

Every helicopter has a 30 second warm up. You need to wait the full 30 seconds to take off properly unless you want to tip to the side and flip over. Do not give the chopper any gas until the 30 second warm up has elapsed.

If you wait the 30 second period, contrary to what many other people in this thread have said, you will be golden. You will experience no tipping when taking off. But I would recommend you practice flying with your own local server before flying in a live server.

I give it gas immediately after I step in, and I can take off fine. It's just a matter of keeping the chopper balanced. While you throttle the chopper, it usually will lean forwards or to the side. You have to counter-act that force by leaning it in the opposite direction so the chopper stays balanced, and then you'll have a successful takeoff. However, I wouldn't suggest touching the throttle on uneven ground. You can use this tactic to get the chopper off from its side too. If the chopper is lying on its side, give it max throttle and spin the chopper in the opposite of the direction that it is lying, and eventually you can flip it back onto its skids.

If you are saying that you take off the moment you step in the chopper, that isn't possible as of .5. If you are just giving it gas during the warm-up period, then yeah you can keep it balanced, but it is safer just to wait the 30 seconds.

taking off and flying a little bird is easy, landing one is a pain, if your not bang on level the thing tips over like a drunk after closing hours.

It's mostly random that you get stuck with one skid of the collison model.
I land most of the time in the worst angles and nothing and sometimes I land slowly in a perfect angle and get stuck.

the thing is like every chopper, (especially the lb), if you have to much speed while trying to land, youll bounce and probably loose control after.

For passengers drop off's though, I have the frame of mind of gettin onto the deck, gettin the boys off the back and then getting the f**k outta dodge as quick as I can.

Im not trying to sound like an expert here but ive found that when landing the chopper, to approach your LZ fast and low. Then when your about to hit the ground angle back slightly on the mouse, throttle down hard (default S key) and keep it straight. The LB's can take quite alot of punishment and when you land this way the chopper can in effect "stick" to the ground after a quick bounce or two first. You'll be surprised how fast you can come in and land the thing without causing any major damage to your LB. Then, depending on how quick your passengers are to dismount, you can be off in a second or 2.

Like i said before, i dont class myself as a great pilot. But, I think its a good way of gettin on the deck very quick, and gettin the passengers off with minimal risk from small arms fire or rpg's.
You can turn your back on a person, but never turn your back on a drug, especially when its waving a razor sharp hunting knife in your eye.

Landing a LB fast and at a low angle will do no damage to it. You will skid almost like a sled to a stop so your guys can get out. The BH is a different story (from my experience), as it either keeps going or once landed, it starts to tip forward.
