I pop out, call an arty strike without the SOFLAM or even iron sights up (because of heavy enemy fire), and miss it, accidentally calling it on myself. Yelling over voip and pressing pgdown usually does nothing, because the commander approves it the second it comes up!
You have to cut them some slack when it comes to approving arty. When the yellow sign showing where SLs need arty, you cannot effectively/quickly zoom in the check. You attempt to click to select zoom but are faced with approve/denie. So ultimately, it comes down to the SL.

Try using the scroll wheel to zoom in or even 'N'.

And in addition, scrolling in makes the request disappear from time to time.

...and it takes time. Artillery strikes normally have to be confirmed within seconds of being called to be effective.

Simple solution to the arty problem, ask the SL if the call is good.

"We need artillery over here sir!"
"Squad Leader, confirm your Artillery call is good"
"Yessir, it's good"
< click approve >

Job done.

it usually only takes 2 SLs calling in arty frequently on each flank on EJOD e.g. and the enemy will have a VERY hard time :D
