Yeah, the damage system in OFP is great. Good AT gunners were the only thing a tanker had to fear. But there are huge differences in OFP and BF2 concerning combat distances. While in BF2 you dont even see more than 500m moderate visual combat istance in OFP is about 1200-1500m, on a few maps even more. That's were snipers and tanks come in handy. Even with only a few towns, small "cities" and the woods on the 100km² area the armor can still be destroyed by hidden infantry. So they were not the überweapon in the game. You even had a realistic chance against helos and jets. Finding infantry while flying fast was difficult, not like in BF2.

The circle anyway has to be big enough that a player cannot really us it as a "targeting aid". Only to show him which area he is pointing.
He who fights and runs away can run away another day.

Hi im kinda new to the forum, sorry for digging up a old post!

Personally i would prefer to have the option to have cross hair on or off. This way the users can decide how relistic they want to go. Alot of bf2 players like me have grown up up playing bf1942, FH, Desert combat, Battlefield Vietnam. So having no cross hair seems a bit daunting at first.

I downloaded Project Realism mainly because i was excited that a mod with British stuff was being released  I am really impressed with the mod, although the no cross hair was a bit weird at first!

Welcome to the forums!

The lack of crosshairs isn't really a problem for most experienced
players, since most remember exactly where the crosshairs were.

But, when in doubt, use the ironsights.

Yes I too can fine unaimed and hit about 60-80% of the time. Also BF2 does have a no Xhair option, the transparancy, but nobody would ever set it to 0, unless there me >_>

I second that. This is a reality mod, so drop the topic.
