VIDEO artillery
Make it so that when certain vehicles/aircraft (Humvee, LB, spy planes if available) calls for artillery or something like "enemy armor spotted", whoever is in a bomber, apache, or arty vehicle can choose to view it in the normal arty view. Or the player could view it as a live video stream and is able to see w/e the person who called for artillery or anti tank support sees.
This will obviously take good teamwork because whoever called for arty has to keep the target if focus. And when the gunner in the apache chooses to view the arty call in "live video stream mode", he can now fire guided hellfires to the target or if he doesnt have the ability to fire hellfires, he can tell the pilot to navigate to the target via teamchat, or teamspeak.
This will be useful because as long as we have a dedicated scout who is willing to keep the target in view, we will no longer lose targets and air support from aircraft will come a lot sooner. This will also help when a LB spots a convoy of tanks we will be able to see how many tanks are in the convoy and if theres any anti air tanks and stuff.
I really hate going in to kill a tank and end up getting surrounded by 2 shilkas, 3 T-72's, and a couple of infantry men with stingers. I WANNA KNOW WHAT IM GETTING INTO DAMNIT, AND I WANNA SEE ALL THE TARGETS MOVEMENTS.

Of course, that's why we give the vehicles their "real powers", because it's a realistic mod. If we balance it out using appropriate vehicles, maps, and scenarios, everything will work out to be balanced, fun, and realistic.
Regarding the "such and such spotted", one of the new features in BF2 is the ability to announce a specific type of unit is spotted simply by looking at it and announcing that an enemy unit is spotted.

I posted about an apaches system with this.
Pos #1: Pilot, controls hellfires and the rocket pods(sorry forgot names).
Pos #2: Gunner, controls the cannon, AND as secondary fire uses the laser that guides hellfire.
When using the hellfire the gunner must hold the beam on the target while it is in flight. The pilot would most likely have to hover, because of this the missle should be fast and very potent(1 well placed shot = dead tank). if they are succesfull, they share the kill.

No, the pilot has control over firing all 8 missles. The gunner has control over the laser designator on the nose, witch guides those missles. The hellfires would only be guided if the gunner were designating a target. If the pilot and gunner can work together, they become very deadly indeed, and would share any kills that were a result of their aircraft.
As the missles go..
-very powerfull, 1 shot kills a MBT if it can hit the rear, engine cover, or turret. If it hits the treads or front armour, the tank would most likely be disabled.
-NO splash, these are antitank missles, and should be used as such
-accuracy, to prevent a pilot from saying, "oh Ill go whore my apache and kill anything I want without a gunner" nope, the gunner is what makes the helo an eficient tank killer. With a gunner using the laser designator, they have sniper precision, without, and they are nothing more than anti tank FFARs.
-NO free refills, to further prevent 1 player whoring this "ultimate" tank killer give it a true to life ammo loadout, none of the fire 8 hellfires and 8 more magicaly spawn after 10 seconds.
Sooo with teamwork, yes you become an ultimate tank killer, without it, you have effectively rendered the possibly mose usefull vehicle in the game all but useless.
