UAV - Kiowa and manual flight
I agree that disabling vanilla UAV was great, but then I spotted pretty WiP Kiowa model and started to wonder if it's sensor system (the big sphere - Mast-Mounted Sight) could work as 'UAV' system similar to original game's.
My second thought was ability to fly UAV planes manually - it would extend commander's role over teams. One squad (2p) named UAV, flying around only where C wishes and SL's ask - also in commander screen this UAV strip, instead of advancing, would simply decrease indicating 'fuel loss'.
(I know that UAV/Radars have been suggested, but search engine didn't show any results)

I always thought of the UAV as the commanders bird's eye view.
What about reintroducing the UAV like this: Commander deploys it somewhere on the map and that are covered by the UAV is the only place the commander can zoom in to get the eye in the sky view? I doubt its possible but one could only deploy a UAV to cover 1 or 4 grid sectors.

Personally I think the idea of a helo that can completly reveal the enemies positions regardless of how well theyre hidden, might be a little cheap. I mean, I can see how it sounds like a good idea, but you could end up with an invincible UAV transmitting 24/7 (by invincible I mean flying extreamly high up).

The Kiowa was dropped, I think. Too bloody bad. It would be great on the bigger maps we're gonna get. Spotting enemies, firing Hellfires. Maybe it would be possible to make it so that the gunner in the mast-mounted sight could fire a projectile that would create a green box - the sort of target box you get in planes when you're bombing ground targets - that jets/attack helis could see/lock on to.
More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

Well this sensor system reveals mainly vehicles irl. And so could this one work.Fenix16 wrote:Personally I think the idea of a helo that can completly reveal the enemies positions regardless of how well theyre hidden, might be a little cheap. Also I don't know if there could be a limit of distance that chopper/UAV plane could reveal vehicles and/or soldiers. Maybe limiting it's range would do?

no only make it go left and right.. and fly about 50 meters.. and it needs to be lock-able by the SA-7Fenix16 wrote:Personally I think the idea of a helo that can completly reveal the enemies positions regardless of how well theyre hidden, might be a little cheap. Meh=VBS
I've used it and it's **** on a civilian level and as a military trainer, it laquing.
I only got to play the standard version and no extra packs.
Obviously, it is based off the operation flashpoint engine, but it actually has less units and maps than the origional operation flaspoint has.
What you see in those movies on youtube is ****... you pay extra for everything they show off.
Like the middle eastern cities they show? that'll be extra cash
Like the dynamic vehicle entering? more cash
Dynamically destructable buildings? Not even put in any form of the game yet
Decent physics? HAHA maybe in the movies but not in game
Plus the operation flashpoint engine was not built in any way for entering buildings and never feels right no matter how much it is changed.
Like VBS1? Try Operation flashpoint (or AA if your computer can run the damn game) It has a huge community consisting of tens of thousands of user-mods.
In my opinion, VBS1 was just something that was extremely over-hyped.
