mong, close the f'ing thread.
Because an arabic song blasting out of a suicide bomber is the inflammatory equivalent of a call to prayer sound being played from a mosque?

Edit: how is a call to prayer insensitive? its part of the ambiance of the region, its like saying that including sand in the maps is insensitive.

just think of it as setting a first person shooter in a church/synagogue while the service is in session, this is equally offensive.

Yes however the durkah phrase has a rather taboo history behind it.

There's a search button.

Why the F*** would you call it "durkha prayer"?!
I agree. It sickens me when ignorant people show no sensitivity to something like a major religious practice that hypothetically could be read by some forum members here. I bet he's one of those run of the mill 8th graders who spouts out **** like "all islam is bad, and make sure to degrade them by calling them durkas!"

Regarding ambient sound, it would add some immersion to the game, but if it is really time consuming then it wouldn't be worth the time. I remember in Forgotten Hope they had some 1940s big band tunes on the Finnish map, it did add flavor and ambiance to the map, but if it would take too long i doubt it would be implemented.

A: You're not racist, Islam is NOT a race.

B: It's not called Salah, the call you hear from the Masjid before the prayer is named Adhan.

C: How in the world could you actually belive that it was called "Durkha" ?! :-?

Third edit: Blah now everything is correctly written.

i'm always pleasantly surprised by the knowledge some people show on topics not immediately connected with their own culture..
also, i'm shocked by the ignorance of others.
and i'm sad, that i'm always too late to post the explanatory posts myself.

The ADHAN as it is known will not be used as a sound - it is to sensitive - to be put into a "game".

This has been discussed many times before, and we are not revisiting this for the time being.

Seeing as though people are getting quite "excited" about it - this thread is closed
