hell yeah! glad to see v2 of this map. i cant wait to see it optimized for rally points and bunkers/firebases. the commander placed AA should also make things MUCH more interesting.
keep up the good work!

Well... Darn it if that isn't the most awesome WIP map I have seen.
I trust that the MEC and co. will have more vehicles to get around more easily? The current Muttrah is big enough to walk around, THAT thing will need more than a couple of forklifts.
It will need forklifts, though. Boy howdy.

ohhh yes, going to stay a MEC vs USMC map as its continuing from the Gulf of Oman setting (as muttrah/muscat is the captial of oman) and im also considering tanks and jets for the map aswell
map is 2x the size as the old muttrah, same size as Al Basrah (1024x2, ie 2km x 2km) so vehicles will be a much bigger part of the map, but its still going to be focoused around the good old infantry and choppers still

unless anything has changed with google earth the last time I looked, the spot of muttrah is really, really low rez and you can only just make out the coast.Army Musician wrote:I know how they do it. Get it to look, fairly real. GOOGLE EARTH!!!
EDIT: infact here is muttrah, you can make out the outline of the harbour. if you zoom in any more you will not get any image atall, same with normal google earth

we did think about that, but that crates lots of problems as you cant destory ladders etc so you would have ladders just floating around where the tower was etcBLACKWIRE wrote:Can we blow up the mosque tower and it have it collapse to screams of 'HUUURAAH' please!?

put it this way, ladders in BF2 are pretty much hard coded. you cant even make them have a diffrent sound when climbing the metal sound is hard coded in, what EOD found out when they tried to make there wooden ladders, you cant attach them to ships or w/e as a child as where you started to climb the ladder, if the ship moved atall when you where on the ladder, you would get off at the top of where the ladder was when you started to climb it, by that time the ship could be afew 10m away, so unless we where going to use a really high poly stair case going up the tower it really cant be done...Desertfox wrote:Cant you have a 'wreck' model?
