About the blackhawks, it isnt easy as you think. The pilot uses an electric control switch to power the miniguns. Think in this case of black hawk down, when the 2nd heli is downed and the 2 snipers holds off the crowd. SOme might be thinking, the miniguns are still there why dont they use it? The fact is, the pilot also has control over it and cant operate when the hawk is not running.
This is realism to the extreme. I've fired a blackhawk minigun without a pilot present. But this is straying from the point of this thread.

Question: Does anyone support players being able to drive and operate empty or captured enemy jeeps/light vehicles?

Maybe basic flying could be accomplished but that's all.

As for small cars, it would be realistic that they would be able to drive one, but not realistic that they would actually drive them. Even on tv, how many US soldiers do you see driving technials in iraq? It would work in organized games but not public servers where people fresh from vbf2 would just be grabbing the nearest vehicle and using it as a taxi.

Now emplaced weapons would work except anti aircraft guns where it would be realistic where an insurgant wouldn't be able to use the US vulcan at all and the US soldier would be a lot slower on moving the insurgent anti-aircraft gun around.

Oh and there is more to operating a minigun than holding the trigger down
None of you are even willing to give this idea a chance. I'll be back in a few.

You are missing the other good reason for team-owned vehicles: preventing spec-ops types camping your base, ready to steal your vehicles as they spawn. Do you really have to have a constant guard set up to protect respawning vehicles?

The other issue is that I get out my vehicle to repair it and some hostile runs in and drives off in it in zero seconds flat. If he'd shot me and any other friendlies in the area and then stolen it, I wouldn't have such an issue....

The verbal brutality found on forums is often reminiscent of the physical brutality found in first person shooters, except that forums allow those with slower reflexes to join the carnage without a handicap.

I suppose in theory it would be possible, but I dont think any conventional armies would actually drive an enemy jeep. I dunno... It just seems a bit stupid to me,

"ok, we've killed the american jeep convoy, now, lets all hop in and dive up to their base and do some SuP4r-l33t commando moves!" As far as I'm aware, conventional armies are rather structured, and I don't think they'd steal an enemy jeep to infiltrate their base (for some reason)

However, I DO think this would work pretty well for the insurgents, since they don't really have any instruction anyway, so they would jump at the opportunity to have a shiny new Humvee. They could even booby trap it and drive it to somewhere where a US squad would see it and get in.

Meh dunno if that made any sense. Sorry if it didn't :-?

Ahh so that's why.

I always think when ever I watch that film: "Use the f'n Minigun dumi"

My opinion on this is that it should be class restricted.

"Hijacker" - Insurgent class, has 1x IED and AK and can steal enemy vehicles.

And Current Spec Ops classes could use enemy vehicles as well for infiltration.

It's a small part of the game tbh.
No cars, well run. Deal with it.

It's also unrealistic that a military vehicle would be unmanned or not guarded whilst out of base. So hijacking isn't really a common issue in Iraq no doubt.

I'm not even gonna bother reading anything but the first post.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO WAY PEDRO!

Keep it like this, do NOT change anything!

Last thing I would like to see (AGAIN) are guys stealing other team jeeps, or, ambushing (???) at the bases with our own jeeps.
In previous versions, when I played as a AT, I sometimes got so sick of those guys in the jeeps, that I often destroyed every empty jeep, friendly or enemy.
It's such an anoying thing, jeeping... :x

FINALY, if it's about reality, how often does it happens in real life war that someone steals and use other side vehicles in the same battle??????????????

I like to keep my t-98 keys on me so those young hooded types don't get their hands on it and sell it for crack money.

However since they don't need keys for the .50 cal on the top I like to keep an SVD under my bed just in case the little buggers start using it in one of their "gang wars".

But not fully possible.
Also, how often do you hear of Insurgents manning land rovers or humvees in Iraq?

Not to mention already suggested.
