Suggestion: snowbrush mod
I personally would like to see a way to keep a vehicle moving after you have bailed from it.. ala a snowbrush jamming the gas pedal down.. or cruise control.. or at least have them roll a lot farther (more realistically) then stopping as if someone slammed on the brakes as soon as you hop out... I dunno, just a small suggestion. feel free to tell me that it sucks, and why

Well, Figured I would mention it.. as no matter how much *** you're haulin, when you bail (tuck and roll baby, tuck and roll), the vehicles seem to slam on their brakes of their own accord.. guess they don't have a neutral setting in their transmissions or something....sorta hard to jump a vehicle off a cliff, and into say, a chopper or something, without being inside the vehicle... which I'd prefer to NOT be..

Thread hijackers
I think this is very important. The problem right now is that people will drive full speed into a flag capture zone, bail out at the last second. What should happen in such a situation is that they should take damage.
Try jumping out of an HMMV driving at full speed (you are geared up with a rifle in hand).
So if someone tries to go full speed into a flag cap zone, first they would take damage and second they would be forced to lose their vehicle (it keeps going).

i agree, however i do not agree with vehicles being launched off cliffs (see photos A and B
) so bailing out going really fast should, as you said, send you sprawling on the ground seriously wounded. however for instances where you shoot the driver, the vehicle should continue moving for some distance or until they hit something.

To stay with the point, yes, it is a major mistake in the BF2 physics coding of every vehicle that when you jump out of any land or water vehicle, it comes to a complete stop in seconds. The only things this should be true of would be tanks and APCs, but jeeps, buggies and boats should keep going along, slowing down gradually. the auto brake thing needs to be removed, also even when driving. If you let off the gas pedal, the car doesn't go from 45 mph to 0 in 2 seconds, it coasts along for a while, different for each car and its gears.
Maybe the removal of reverse movement as we use it would help this out...
but i have no idea how to code this, other than that it would taking for f*cking ever.
