Firstly, let me take this opporunity to thank you for producing this mod for us! I hadn't played BF2 for almost a month as the vanilla game had become more of a chore to play rather than fun. Your mod has fixed pretty much everything I thought was wrong with the original game and I am extremely grateful.
My suggestion has to do with the number of players using certain classes class on a team. I think they should be limited. This is especially true with the case of snipers. Accurate and deadly sniper rifles are realistic but having 10 of them on a 16 player team certainly isn't. I find this greatly detracts from organised squad play and encourages people to attempt to run and gun because to remain stationary is to be killed by a sniper. Perhaps only allowing 1 sniper per 8 players would work well.
Thoughts?

The new game mode (Assault and Secure) limits the amount of snipers, as I have heard. Ihaven't had a chance to play the new game mode though.
Anyway, I'm in full agreement with you.
EDIT:
Actually... here's another idea to add to yours...
Games always have trouble seperating insurgent forces and conventional forces (which is probably why BF2 chose the fictional MEC).
One way to distinguish the two armies is to impose class limits on the conventional force, but not on the insurgent force.
This way, the insurgents can use whatever they want... giving them a much more "mobile" approach to the combat.. while the conventional forces are limited by their organization and rules.. or so to speak.
Anyway, I'm in full agreement with you.

I have played the AAS mode (fantastic mode btw, and I recommend finding a server that uses it asap) and there wasn't a class limit on the server I was playing on. Is it a server option to limit snipers? My team consisted of 11 snipers and 5 other classes! There was even a squad consisting of six snipers. Very frustrating when you manage to take the next flag but you can't get anyone to move up and defend it because they're camping out somewhere safe sniping targets of oportunity.Artnez.com wrote:The new game mode (Assault and Secure) limits the amount of snipers, as I have heard. Great idea. But giving the insurgents unlimited access to weapons would end with what Mortlock mentioned above. An unlimited amount of snipers. A normal person would know that sniper rifles ( SVD isn't actually a real sniper ) are very expensive and need good maintainance.
One more idea to add when insurgents are involved is: Give them more deviation to simulate their minor training and bad weapon maintanance.

They have the .30 calibre with greater power. What else do you want??
You could also give them more tickets in exchange. Everything is negotiable
I don't think lowtech enemies should have high tech weapons.
