hey ya the trees are just a tempo thing as i deside what will go inthere i like your idea so i might try and go the rundown park.


the vechlacs in the map are not set instone yet but at the momet its
tanks,transport(hummer),DPV, bradley, blackhawk(littlebird if i can get it working) boats, attack helos


but ill let ever one know that vehilcls in the mountness regin is almust useless cuz of how close the hills are and the angle of them and the roads in the mountens USE WITH CUTION OR ELSE....

at the moment the map is 67% ready to beta.

Oh and Superb Mod.. fo sho i'll be playing this rather than original bf2.

Wish they would release bf2 editor for 2000, then i could do some mappin :'(

It's looking good, the town looks sweet, especially those burning buildings. How about a couple of check points on the outskirts of the town? What other flags are involved or is it just that one main objective of capturing the hospital area? The only real criticism I have, is the rocks in picture 7, the one with the knife, they look odd, as though they were placed there. I realise you haven't finished the map. That's the only thing I saw that looked odd. Excellent work, look forward to playing it when it's done. :grin:

VERY NICE! Awesome, i hope you can keep a 400m ish view distance on that map, or higher. One criticism, the second pic, the areas around the building seem unnaturally empty. They need random rubble, piles of stuff, random parked cars on the sidewalks, etc. Look at maps like basrahs edge and other dc city maps, they are what city maps should be like in the city: close together and with lots of detail to provide interesting cover and scenery.

Basically: Very sweet looking, awesome so far, just keep on add'in scenery!

What kind of light set up are you going for with this map? I hope you keep the air clear, all the soliders fighitng in Karkand would suffocate in minutes from the amount of clay in the air, or whatever the hell that is.

Also, i think a small ring of shanty houses outside of the larger buildings would look good to cover up the transition from flat plain to city houses. another good example of how to do city maps in bf2 is the bf2 conversion of lost village.

figs last point is right on, start with small slum buildings on the outside and work in, of course the built up areas shouldnt be perfectly centered, but you get the idea.

as far as the rocks DAWG is talking about, smooth it out a little and make it into a berm.

other than that, looks great.

yes the rocks are just a temp thing i was just playing around to see what would work and what woulnt. i havent added in cars and stuff yet but trust me there will be. and there is small rings of building around the out side of the city i have some pics of it liek the one that shows the inside of the building. its on the outskerts of the city. the view distance will stay the same and the sky will be change as i find a better looking one that suits the map. there will not be a big dust clud like in karkand. so more inviting for loger range fighting and more opertunaty for air saport. im still lokking for way to make the desert more intersiting. so all ideas will help alot thanks a bunch guys.

Looking pretty good, but I'd focus on each little part of the level now, going through each part and thinking "what would make this 50sqft section better?"

Put as much detail in as possible, plants, rubble, rocks, stuff, etc. be creative, use things we woudln't expect in some areas, like some road blocks being a make shift fence around some part of some poorer guys yard or something.

and the pic with the gas station... the road needs some help.

I'll beta test! Its looking awesome.
