interpreter/indigenous soldier
i searched and the iraqi army has been suggested b4 but was scrapped because it was a new faction and therefore not priority
well this isnt priority either but:
on insurgent maps (in all game modes) such as "basrah" and "baghdad" maybe a new kit-either spawn menu or limited-could be an "interpreter" or "indegenous soldier" kit. neone whos played Americas army: SF knows what im talking about. whenever an insurgent or civilian is arrested within a certain radius of the interpreter the conventional forces team gets additional "intel" points (kind of like how now getting extra points for kills around ur squad leader) on Insurgency Mode
on aas and extraction this kit could get extra points for killing and arresting
kit could have just knife, ak47(s?: see a lot of iraqi army with the folding stock), one grenade, light body armor
of course there is the problem of having to create a new model

Would you need a new model ? Or just a reskinned insurgent model ?
I think an additional class based on intel gathering and using the radius system to make sure he stays close to the squad is a great idea.

it sounds like a good idea, the conventiona armies civillian.
as for replacing spec ops, no matter how out of place ish they are they are still needed for rally destroying and spotting since they have the best x2 view they also should be getting the laser thing the devs are working on so they are still needed technically...

RPs take 2 knife hits to take down in .6, and specops don't have the SOFLAM, but there's another, separate thread for this.jackal22 wrote:it sounds like a good idea, the conventiona armies civillian.

Either way, an interesting thing is that AA:SF's SF cooperating with indigenous forces dynamic is somewhat already in game. The officer kit for the Insurgents is supposed to be a foreign special forces operator working with indigenous forces (and you get bonus intel points for taking him down).

Spec ops is out of place anyway. Give the officer the soflam, change the spec ops to indigenous guy, and its perfect.

I like the idea of removing SF apart from an M4 with scope could be nice for another class or limited kit. Not too bothered about the SLAM though.

Pretend that they get arrested and interrogated.

Nuff said. The Conventional armies will NOT have the weapon cache locations know to them. Instead they will have to gain "intel" points.
Intel points are gained by:
killing insurgents - 1 point
looting insurgent kits - 2 points (pickup an Insurgent kit before it disappears .. don't need to hang onto the kit, just pick it up and drop it)
arresting civilians - 6 points
killing insurgent embedded SF operator - 6 points
Intel points are lost by:
killing civilians - minus 3 points
When the Conventional Army reaches 30 intel points, a weapon cache location is relvealed through a marker on the map.
Each weapon cache gets progressively harder to discover. 3 intel points are added to the intel points requirement for each cache discovered. So for example the first one is 30 points, the second one will be 33 points and the 8th one will be 54 points: 30 + (3x8=24).

If you are reading this dont stop, cause if you do, I'll kick you in the balls.

Wow.....this would be an awsome way to phase out the SF and all its unreal implications. Each faction would have a unit that was indiginous to the terrain(eccept the INS as they would have a spec ops instead) they faught. For example, the USMC would have an iraqi army soldier. Cant thin kto elaborate further on that, but i know it can be made more relavant.

suddenly had an idea
would it be possible for INSURGENTs to "capture" coalition soldiers or interpreters (if my idea was accepted) via the knife metaphor and reduce coalition intel points and raise their own tickets (hostages/hostage execution vids are used as propaganda and aid thier cause)?
maybe "capturing" coalition forces could be done only by a
"terrorist" class....going to start a new thread now
