only problem with that is i think people would stop shooting eachother and attack the deer instead
Immersive sound addition plans?

man are you serious?'[R-DEV wrote:sofad']this wont happen.
one of the first things i did when starting to work for PR (for 0.4 i think) was to create all new movement sounds with no annoying gear clacker in normal move and alot less in sprint.
in RL soldiers are sneaky ******** wich have their gear strapped to not make any unnecessary noise imo.
I wouldn't mind not being able to hear even someone sprinting from as close as maybe 25m but from 25m to 0m a player should have to walk/crouch-walk/crawl to avoid detection.

ugh, ive been spending too much time on the FH2 forums. i actually cringed at the Saving Private Ryan reference.VipersGhost wrote: 2-Also I've heard some guys mention bullet zings, as in when a bullet flies near you it would make a sound. Not sure if that is actually real but it sure sounds cool, like a Saving Private Ryan effect when they are storming the beach.

NO! The G3 sounds is much better! I was trying to say that the sound of bullets flying by you is spot on, just like real life, and that my only reference for bullets flying by is the G3, as it's the only weapon I've been "shot at" with!'[R-DEV wrote:Jaymz']You mean the new G3 sound is bad?I changed it about 5 times.....
I hope you got the point this time? No easy when English isn't your "first language".

What the heck dude...who the hell is shooting at you with a G3?
I agree too that we should have *gear* sounds and louder footsteps if time ever permits. I think its realistic and would be a very nice improvement.

phew, glad to hear everyone likes the G3 sound
. As for rustling of gear, from a sound engineers point of view it just doesn't seem realistic. A soldier in the middle of combat is constantly being exposed to numerous high SPL sounds like gunshots and tank cannons. These will completely desensitize his ears to subtle noises like the rustling of gear for at least the duration of any PR engagement.

Just tossing ideas around, but can it be made that only engineer, supports and others "heavy" class that make noise and not the others ?'[R-DEV wrote:Jaymz']phew, glad to hear everyone likes the G3 sound. And insurgents, I would expect them to make a lot of noise, grunting and stuff like that... after all, they are only civilians with guns and most people I know would make noise even while trying to be sneaky...

Really its not that big of a deal to all of us I'm sure....just goes to show you how GOOD the mod is when the only thing we are complaining about is the sound my zippers and boots make...lol. Still think a light thumping of boots on the ground as your "Trot" or a rustling of dirt when you go prone would be cool. I don't like guys being able to sprint right behind me without me knowing it...but its seriously not a big deal in the least. A lot of maps we are running around and its kinda quiet...just your squadies moving with you and gun fire once in a while. I'd like some movement sounds for guys trotting...that way when my squad jumps up to move I can see and hear it. Eitherway...great job on everything...seriously. The sounds are so well done.

It's a well known fact that the Dev's use CS:S as their benchmark. Pretty much anything and everything about CS:S is used as a reference or target for PR. So it most likely is one in the same

Oh, I did not know that, so the developers want the game to be like Source? I would have thought differently.Long Bow wrote:It's a well known fact that the Dev's use CS:S as their benchmark. To be fair, the gun is named as the G3 on CS even if it does look slightly different.

Not really at me, luckily, but close enough. 15 years ago when I was in the army, we manually "marked targets". Sitting in a hole on the shooting range, just below the targets and marking where the shooters hit the targets. Almost like being shoot at. Seems a bit old fashion today...VipersGhost wrote:What the heck dude...who the hell is shooting at you with a G3?
