The few times people manage to fool me to go as a SL I do two things:

1) put down a rallypoint. (and in my modest opinion - my RP last for a good 45 minutes - no matter where)
2) I hide my butt somewhere close to the fight, so that folks can spawn and kick butt.

Standing orders: If SL is safe spawn in, if SL if under fire - spawn on RP.
This is comming from one that get told to "STFU" cause I'm talking to much. Trust me, if I'm under fire - you'll be the first to know.

I say my good fellow, (lol) after 0.5 - we have lost one thing. And that is the SL actually taking responsibility of his own life. I like to use 0.32/0.4 tactics in 0.5. SL stays alive. No matter what. In my mind, my squad has two points to spwan in at. RP and me. How about you folks?

I really want to put down a complaint! This forum knew it's stuff before. Irony. Sarcasm. Snide remarks. I find you all lacking lately. Get your shi* together!

I want to see a witty remark within the hour, our I am gonna ask for a world wide ban!

You know I'm kidding - right??? Jeeeeesus! Come ON! Sigh.

No, leave him to die. The sole objective of the squad leader is to stay alive. You should never risk your life for a squad member. There are exceptions to this rule of thumb but they are rare.

If you get idiots like that who insult you, first explain why you did what you did. If they still continue with their misguided noob insults, kick them from the squad.

The situation went something like this:

I ran with this medic guy on open area. Then grenade came and killed the medic. I was lightly wounded and I went hide behind wall.

Medic says: Squadleader revive me please!
I say: No, too risky.
3rd guy (not spawned yet): Come on! Why can't you help him?
I say: What? He is under fire and I just try to keep myself alive.

3rd guy spawns on me and runs to revive the medic. After that 3rd guy runs for cover but the medic gets shot again.
I say: Thats why!
3rd guy: You're a bad teamplayer

This point I got mad.

I shout: I am the SL and I try to keep myself alive so that you can spawn on me! Isn't that teamplaying!?

My spoken english is not excellent and maybe they didn't understood everything I said but anyway...

After that the whole squad break up and couple of them made new squad. Like I was the bad guy. Maybe I was the bad guy because I got angry and yelled to them. Anyway.. That was the end of that game round... :(

The officer kit has a sidearm for a reason. Next time that happens, ask the guy to respawn on you, pull out your pistol, shoot him in the head, and kick him from the squad :p

The downed medic probably didn't even have his shockpaddles charged, knowing how it usually is.

if the downed soldier is someone i know and trust, i might go for them if they request it, as they know the situation better than i.

if its some random private, HELL NO. he can sit and think why did he die and he can spawn back in and be more careful next time.
