Yeah, I have a map of all the tree stands, I checked a couple out... now if only I can get a sniper and grapple, I will be set.

The one near perimeter base 1 is excellent, i must have taken about 8 down around the flag just with my engineer L85A1.

Its also fun to grapple into normal trees, lower yourself when someone walks past, kill them, then climb back up.

A guy in a squad I was in kept doing that. Worked really well, judging by the repeated "Gotcha!"s :p

It is natural woodish color (that you would see at a hardware store) However I believe its draw distance is somewhat low because I can't see them till I'm either really close or looking with my binocs.

Here is an in-game screen :p

There ARE 12 total... Unless there's more that use a different static.

Sapper for militia and engineer for British have the grappling hooks, press 9 to use them. The graphic for them doesn't show up when looking at your inventory.
Edit: Woops, it's actually the scout that has the grappling hook, not the sapper. Unless both the scout and sapper have them. Otherwise IronTaxi is right V
