so, you are not agree with the idea of a kit with smg , chute and a knife , BUT you are happy with a guy with body armor , two AP/AT missils AND a smg ?

You misunderstand, They bring up the request list and select any, but it does not give them that kit, No mater what kit they request from the wreck they receive the 2nd Pilot kit. This was to stop the requesting the pilot kit for the 2nd time but being refused due to them already having the pilot kit.

I say you give him the two kit option.
Then you code it so he has a 1 in five chance of breaking his back on bailing and a 1 in 3 chance of breaking his leg on landing.
If he still makes it down he has no stamina and cannot sprint or jump because of damage to his lungs.

If you do this, my plan, which is clearly the best one, and if you don't do it the player base will surely shrink, the pilot will have a better chance of surviving a fire fight when he lands after bailing out but he will not be a combat effective trooper like a grunt in Marine line unit.

It would take a huge amount of work and result in the same situation we have now, a specialized class that is unsuited to any other activity and is so very inclined to become skillful at that activity.

I offer the caveat that I have been drinking and have had a frustrating day with little accomplished and more time away from my game on a weekend, thereby rendering my mood less than optimal.

I'd say, all this wont be possible in the first place, as you always turn to charcoal, when shot down :/

In real life, they do, with some service-specific differences.

no, it doesn't sit with them in the plane. There is no room for an smg in a fighter cockpit. The carbine sits in the chopper, not in the plane. At least to my understanding fighter pilots only have a pistol. Most chopper pilots probably have a m4.

And if the pilot kit (or the chopper pilot kit if there will be 2 separate ones) is given an smg or m4 just make the aim suck. Kind of like the insurgents, not so much training = bad aim.

What does it matter? U usually dont ever get to bail out anyway because there is no crash landing system so I dont think it matters either way. You get hit with a missile you smoke witch in real life your engines would probably quit then you could bail out but unfortunatly you dont get very many chances to bail out, you either get shot right out of the air or are just a noob and crash trying to put a sniper on a roof, so either way you die in the crash

what the other guy say
its not on them but on the chopper (cockpit or in the back or wherever)

realistically would the pilot have enough time to pick up a list of equipment before bailing?

Whats all the fuss about?

The Devs are obviously not going to add a M4 or SMG to the pilot kit.

Leave the pistol, screw the other weapons. Pistols are barely used in game so might as well leave it to pilots. Besides, if you happen to get downed by enemy fire and enemies are swarming you, go hide, kill someone with the pistol, and loot their kit. Problem solved.

QFT, though the chopper carbine idea would be cool.
